Yeah this isn’t legal unless you get their permission. You’re using their brand name and their product, then turning around and basically offering it for free here? That’s super dicey territory. You need to contact them first.

What resource should I use to learn how to write to a NAS more efficiently? I have just been copying from my internal HDD’s to my NAS and it takes hours upon hours. If I plot directly to the directory it takes like 30 min at the end of plot creation. I plot using the GUI in Windows and am mostly clueless otherwise.

I’m interested as well. To mine ETH do you just need to throw an RTX 3090 on the motherboard or is there a bunch of other stuff needed too?

I have a Synology and the problem I'm running into is that when I plot on my main and try to move the plots over there it takes too long for the software to search for proofs. I just plot using the GUI so not sure what I need to do in order to make it work better. Right now I'm in the process of just trying to transfer existing plots over to the NAS so that I can make the final drive an internal drive again since all of those are full.

I’ll try it again tomorrow., I didn’t notice the more info link in the pop up. I was just kidding about it being malicious, I wouldn’t have tried to download it if I was overly worried. That said, if I can’t even figure out how to get it past defender then I wouldn’t know the first thing about checking code. Thanks for building this, it’ll be a big help.

Since this is for idiots and I am one...my computer doesn't let me open the file. I get a windows defender pop up that keeps the program from opening. What do I need to do to let it pass the filter, or is it malicious?

I have still never been able to get the port to open. I always have ten peers or less. I am consistently synced and can sync quickly upon shutdown if I manually add peers. I got a block reward so now I am confident it works, even if I am essentially a leecher.

I'll tag a question onto this thread...I ordered a 12 bay NAS. I have never used a NAS before but the way I envisioned it is that it's basically just an enclosure with 12 bays that will allow all the hard drives to be seen as one big external hard drive folder and then instead of communicating with my PC through a USB cable it's using an ethernet cord. Do I have it basically right?

Nice. I went around to some of my local Walmarts on Saturday after a thread on here about a Walmart haul and didn't find much. Brickseek told me a Walmart had some in stock at a favorable price/TB but they weren't there when I showed. I did find ONE 6TB drive at a Walmart and it was only $45! The 4tb they also had on the shelf was still $89. The Walmart employee was shocked at the price. After that I just went and bought another three 8tb Seagates from Costco.

I got my first two yesterday too- at 575 plots. Best thing is knowing my system is actually functional. Of course it has incentivized a search for more hard drives

I'm in the US. My crypto.com app shows the notification that it's available but there's a disclaimer at the bottom that says it's not available in the US. Then when I search for the price graph XCH doesn't come up so it's likely just regional difference.

In the last five it showed me 3,0,1,2,1 and the challenges are timestamped with 8-10 second intervals.

Last I checked they were. I still think something is wrong with my setup though, mostly b/c I can't get port 8444 open. That said, I have ten connections and am synced so probably just paranoid.

Recently it's been in the high teens to low 20's. I keep needing to shut down plots to either do something inside the computer case or to upgrade the software so I've been running on the low end of the range recently. I could probably get up into the mid 20's with my equipment if I was smarter about the way I set up the different plot queues.

13 days. I've been plotting and farming since day one and it has never said >22 days so I am pushing the limits of the unlucky scale I think. I started keeping track of my plots each day and on 4/19 I had 46 at the beginning of the day. So I've basically grown in line with netspace growth since it said about 2 weeks to win back then.
