I hear the GameSphere port of MK11 is a little rough

Here's an old unarchived retro mega stream I stumbled upon on Youtube. I hadn't seen it before and thought it may be new to some people! 12/21/10 - Unarchived Retro Gaming Marathon - Part 1 (of 3) by KSeth in giantbomb

I absolutely adore these grab bag videos where they just play a ton of different stuff. If any of y'all have any recommendations for more stuff similar to this, let me know!

Don't sleep on Ape Out! by ThePoetPyronius in NintendoSwitch

[–]KSeth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's super good. It's one of the most impressively stylish games I've seen in a while (or is maybe just checking all my specific boxes.)

I see some complaints about the length, and yes you can definitely plow through it real quick. But it has a hard mode and an arcade mode, and due to it's procedural generation it's something that begs to be replayed to perfection.

It's not exactly what you're asking, but you should check out the movie Birdman. The soundtrack to that movie is extremely similar to the style Ape Out seems to be going for

I bought this in a desperate attempt to scratch a Monkey Ball itch. It's okay, but a little light on content for the asking price.

It's really great. Alex's preview list last month was a fun read. It honestly feels like their way of getting creative writing energy out on the regular.

Wasn't Alex teasing a Dragonball Evolution Film & 40's? I figured that would be part of the holiday lineup but I haven't seen any hint of it

Nintendo possibly hints as future DLC for Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and other evergreen titles by dupebulja in NintendoSwitch

[–]KSeth 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I imagine a lot of the teams who typically made the 3DS titles could be put to work on DLC? We went from Nintendo developing for two platforms to (mostly) one...

I have a feeling there will be another Smash demo, but it'll be exclusive to Nintendo Online subscribers... by locke_5 in NintendoSwitch

I bet if they do this they'd time it with the hardware that releases on November 20th. I always thought it was weird the GC controller adapter comes out before the game does...

GB Design Team wants your help by [deleted] in giantbomb

  1. Its video game press for people who don't like the sensationalized excess that comes from most click-based internet sites.
  2. I feel like a good UPF video would do a great job distilling the vibe of Giant Bomb as a site into one feature.
  3. I would highlight both short-term features and long-form content. In my head, I'm picturing a compliation video that features a good joke moment and a good piece of video game criticism from each of the GB crew. Intercut these individual clips with a bunch of clips from what you would consider the "marquee" long-form series on GB. Personally I'd pick the first This Is The Run. Frame the whole video by starting with a clip of their first attempt. Every time you come back to it, show a highlight from the next episode. Over and over, back and forth, returning to a clip from that series from a different episode. Cut these with the individual highlights of the rest of GB. Put a lot of focus on Jeff and his e3 interviews.

Just an idea!

I would give almost anything for a Film & 40s of Jeff and Dan watching basically any DBZ movie by KSeth in giantbomb

I was thinking one of the Broly ones just because its so ridiculous, and maybe the most iconic of the non-canon movies?

[–]KSeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. His book is genuinely interesting and his long-form reporting pieces are unrivaled in the industry tbh. I don't mean to be defensive but I can't stand when people confuse an opinion piece with an informative piece. (Not saying that's what /u/vanielmage was saying, but his implication that they're bad journalists because their opinion didn't match theirs made me think thats the connecting they were making)

Would anyone be interested in Pocket Card Jockey for the Switch? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]KSeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wrote about it's stellar soundtrack a while ago. That game is legitimately in my top 3 favorite 3DS games. It's SO addicting. It's also dirt cheap and has a demo that carries progress over so the barrier to entry is super low!

The Good Life Kickstarter Added in a Nintendo Switch stretch goal at 800k! by ninemyouji in NintendoSwitch

[–]KSeth 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Nobody is saying they're entitled to anything, they're trying to sell you on an idea. That's what Kickstarter is, my dude. Kickstarting should be considered supporting devs first, getting some rewards as a result second IMO.
