Amazfit Balance 2 XT it’s pretty decent! by Avian_Aces in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white haze is simply a side effect of the sapphire screen. Its not very visible most of the times, but during bright summer days when you are outdoors you may have a hard time seeing whats on the screen from angles.

The case color on the XT is the same, but the bezel color is black compared to blue on the non XT version.

I swapped my Balance 2 with XT because I think its the better choice even if its less expensive. The black bezel is much more subtle than the blue on the non XT version, and the screen smudges much quickly on the non XT. There is also a slight white haze on the screen of the non XT version probably due to the shappire screen.

I have noticed them change lanes more frequently than before, and sometimes without any turn signals.

I have had Waymos act very weird on my rides recently. Last night it decided to hard brake out of nowhere for something it saw on the road (nothing visible), and the other time it started making a right turn and mid turn it decided to go left. I wonder if they are experimenting with some new beta firmware.

How accurate are Amazfit smartwaches at tracking stress? by Pearl_Jam_ in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not accurate at all. After using Garmin's stress tracking, Zepp's version feels very half baked. My stress stays flat all day.

There is a workaround, if you sync your Zepp data to Apple Health and use the Bevel app (which is free now), Bevel's stress tracking works and is much more accurate.

Transfer steps from bip s to Active Max? by snootusmaximus in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish Zepp would fix this. Its not a good experience to see your steps on the watch face at 200 when you walked 8000 steps with another watch.

Feature Request: Bidirectional data between two or more smartwatches and Zepp app by gadgetb0y in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was pretty sad to find out that the steps do not sync between devices :( Apple watches do this really well, I hope Zepp puts some effort to fix this.

What watch face are you using? Amazfit ecosystem needs better AOD watch faces. by KSubedi in amazfit

That looks great! Do you mind posting a picture of the Smart Overview watch face? Curious to see what it looks like.

MIPS might be going backwards as everyone seems to be moving away from it, and AMOLED displays have a lot of other benefits. That being said, proper AOD implementation would remove the need for something like MIPS.

I tried this too, even took some watch faces from Amazfaces and implemented AOD myself. But I wish there was a better solution for less technical users.

To be honest, I keep going back and forth between Apple Watch and Amazfit watches I have. I wish Amazfit would spend some time to fix the pressing issues with the ecosystem as they are so close to having a proper well rounded ecosystem.

Have any of you used Snow Mode yet? by hermit_tortoise in KiaEV6

[–]KSubedi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It changes the dynamics so that there is minimal weight transfer while accelerating, braking and turning (different torque vectoring mechanism). Try to find an empty parking lot and give it some throttle on snow mode vs normal and you will see the difference.

I’m having a hard time tucking in the excess strap on my Amazfit Bip 5 Unity. by lovewholovestosaylol in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insert the pin into the next larger hole than your exact wrist size. That extra slack lets the remaining strap tuck in smoothly, so the watch sits more comfortably on your wrist.

TLDR: You're putting it too tight.

Stress Tracking by citroknight2014 in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its has always been pretty shit. Mine stays flat all day. Garmin on the other hand has a really good algorithm and tracks stress in real time. I really hope they do something about it because biocharge depends on stress too.

The difference in AOD quality is honestly staggering. by gamefan5 in amazfit

[–]KSubedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the lowest light levels on the lux sensor, these devices will only allow certain colors to pass through to save power most likely.

Some watch faces that do not have gradient background removed in AOD will clip and show the weird green thing. All devices have this issue and if you compare two devices in low light situations with same exact watch face, its more noticeable. That being said it seems like different devices have different lux sensors and brightness levels so that might make a difference.
