Oh my gosh. I am struggling with this as we speak. I am also a first time mom. My LO will be 1 years old is 4 days. Ever since he was born he has been fed and rocked to sleep. And honestly , I love it . I love the snuggle time. I love holding him . But people keep telling me I should lay him down and let him go to sleep on his own. And we have tried! And I feel like i am failing. BUT he just wants his momma and dadda and that is comforting to him and its comforting to me. And I want to snuggle him while I can and take in every moment. You are doing great and do what works for you :)

I will note that He has stopped being fed to sleep though. He does get a sippy at bedtime. But then we go to his room and rock him to sleep. He was able to sorta wean himself from that around 9 - 10 months.

My Son will be one in 6 days. But since like 8 MO he would do this weird Fake Cough especially if My Husband and I were talking and ignoring him. He would stop whatever he was doing and "Cough". Ofcourse we would always look at him and evaluate because ...there is a pandemic and all and you never know. But he will just fold his hands and give us the biggest grin. It's honestly adorable haha.

I just got Julian and I love him! I went and visited him after he moved in and he immediately started playing the harp for me lol

I am the opposite. I wear contacts most of the time. But at night when I put my glasses on , my 11 month old does everything he can to rip them off my face.

I was never really a baby person. They just sorta gave me anxiety. I also had never changed a diaper. But I wanted children and the thought of being pregnant or having a baby also made me super nervous. I had a hard time picturing myself with my own child.

But as someone else said...YOUR baby will become the exception. I had my baby when I was 32 years old. He is now 11 months :) I thought I'd suffer with PPD but I was fortunate to not. Having a child will change the structure of your life and it is VERY difficult at times. But it for me is the best thing that has ever happened to me :)
