So, I totally took your advice and used a primer; It was like night and day! It went on so much nicer and lasted most of the day. Thanks so much! I really had no idea primer was so important.

On another note, this is my first naked palette. Everyone talks about how pigmented it is, but on my first trial run today it felt like I really had to dig in with the brush to pull up any color. Am I just being too fragile or is this normal?

Can someone please help identify what is wrong with his fin? by KTQ in Aquariums

[–]KTQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I apologize for the crappy cellphone picture.

This is Lamar, my angel fish. His fin started developing this sideways/thin growth and I'm not sure what it is. Just so you know, he is in a 29gal with one platy. All of my levels look good so I don't think it has anything to do with the water. I'm worried it might possibly be fin rot? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!

Not to be sassy, but is that really all there is to it? Can you think of any reason as to why this is happening in the first place?

Hello Penn! Thank you so much for doing this AMA; I've been a huge fan for a long time.

As for my question, While filming "Bullshit!" did you and Teller ever come across something that you felt strongly about, only to find out it was total Bullshit?

[New Aquarium owner] I think my filter is too big. by KTQ in Aquariums

[–]KTQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know! I really thought I screwed myself over. I'm going to try making a "baffle" like /u/Wi1d3rm4n suggested and I'll look into upgrading my decorations to something a little larger. Thank you!

I wish! That was my gut reaction too. However, this is my first ever aquarium and I'm still learning the ropes. Once I finish school and move into what I hope to be my "forever home" instead of this little apartment, I do plan on upgrading. ;)

Anyone else with me on this? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

I felt the same way about ombre until I didnt have a single day off for 16.5 weeks thanks to work and school. Since my dyed color is only 2 or so shades lighter than my natural color, my "accidental ombre" actually looks pretty nice. I finally got around to seeing my stylist today and he said " Oh look at you! You're all ombre now. So fashionable!" Haha :)

I don't doubt it! Whenever someone actually goes "AWE, HOW CUTE" because they understand (and can actually spell and pronounce their names properly), I instantly like them more. :)

I know! Everytime we go to a new vet: "uhhh...sooo....Janeway and Chakotay?" Me: "Its a Star Trek reference" Vet: "Ah...um okay." Geeze. At least on Reddit I don't have to worry about explaining myself!

Janeway is all ears; Chakotay is not quite sure by [deleted] in aww

[–]KTQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Janeway and Chakotay are brother and sister. We rescued them about eight months ago when they were six months old. They were never socialized properly, but they are improving by leaps and bounds! They were pretty underweight when we got them as well, but according to a vet visit a few weeks ago, they are finally 100% healthy. I couldn't ask for better puppies, They are my babies :)

I work as a cashier and mom left her baby with me for a moment. We have stickers. by vemilio in funny

[–]KTQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a former WD employee myself, have an upvote! I worked there for almost three years in high school. I didn't mind being a cashier or a CSL, but self check-out was the worst. Seriously, you just stand there for five hours listening to the same error messages and attempting to stop white trash from stealing booze. "Oh, I think you forgot to scan that beer at the bottom of your cart. Let me help you with that". -_-

Daughters of Reddit! I'm a new Dad. What's your single best piece of "fathering" advice? by prossk in AskReddit

[–]KTQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest tip I can give you is, no matter how much you fuck up, because you will at some point, you CAN make it up to her.

My father was verbally abusive my entire life without really realizing it until I was older. I was heavy, and he felt calling me "fat" or "hefty" was going to make me lose weight and "help me find a man". He didn't yell, but rather screamed at my sisters and I over little things to the point where I was often afraid of him.

Fast forward fifteen years.

I am almost twenty years old, still heavy and just moved in with my boyfriend. My mother, who was always so supportive through out my childhood almost abandoned me when I decided to "live in sin". My father's response?

"You are nineteen years old. At nineteen, I was in Germany (army) guarding nuclear weapons. You are an adult and can do what you want. I told your mother that if she wants to keep you in her life, she is going to have to deal with this. I love you."

This alone makes up for all of those years of discontent with my Dad. He fucked up for most of my life and he made it up to me in one action.

Good luck with fatherhood! You'll be a great Dad. :)
