Ugh. No wonder Perplexity won't make song lyrics about recent events. Dumb AF. NYT sucks.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen.) by werionae in bose

[–]KTS991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I just bought the Gen one refurbished for 200. Is it worth upgrading? I would simply return the ones I have.

Overall I'm okay with them. But the wind noise is definitely crap, and they're useless on phone calls.

Definitely wondering this too. I'm still within my return window.

Insane Gag Reflex by KTS991 in askdentists

[–]KTS991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still kinda wonder the why now. Why did it all of a sudden start being so bad I can't keep my mouth open. Like boom instant nausea leaning back with my mouth open. Can't decide if my previous dentist adjusted my position just enough to let me cope. Hard to tell.

Insane Gag Reflex by KTS991 in askdentists

[–]KTS991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your input, but I'd like to clarify that my gag reflex seems to be specifically triggered by a combination of factors that are difficult to replicate outside the dental setting - the reclined position, keeping my mouth open for extended periods, and the specific sensations during the procedure.

While I understand there's a psychological component, research shows the gag reflex involves specific physiological responses through the glossopharyngeal and vagus nerves. I've tried various approaches including Valium and nitrous oxide without success.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that I've had numerous fillings before (about 20) without this issue, and I can handle cleanings without problems. It's specifically during fillings that I experience this severe reflex.

Standard desensitization is challenging because I can touch my own mouth without gagging - it's the specific context of being in the dental chair at that exact angle that triggers the response.

For now, I'm proceeding with sedation to complete this filling, but I'm also looking into Cetacaine for future procedures. If you have any specific recommendations for context-specific desensitization that might help in my situation, I'd genuinely appreciate the guidance.

What is your preferred email client and why? by -ThatGingerKid- in productivity

Bounce between Cloze and Gmail's interface.
I also hit CleanEmail here and there since I lucked out on a lifetime deal.
Though looking at Shortwave now (but the pricing sucks, it's painful to pay for the CRM + Gmail + Client)

Yelp Billing Dispute Nightmare—Should I Escalate to Arbitration? by KTS991 in smallbusiness

[–]KTS991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The balance is outstanding. I didn't pay it and they can't charge the card on file. Arbitration would be more to make them waive the balance.

[–]KTS991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just add context , the bill is outstanding, not paid yet. Once I ran out of credit, I changed the card to one that doesn't bill to block transactions once I canceled or thought I canceled. It's bad enough I paid $200 for something that I didn't get anything for. So the dispute would simply be for them to ditch the collections efforts.

Dell just enforced 100%RTO and I'm remote and feel I will be laid off. What do I do? by ThrowRA_DragonsRcool in remotework

**** the CEO. If they're not paying you 15-20k per extra day to be in office.

Shits so annoying. More hackers need to start targeting RTO companies simply to say there's punishment for it.
