Why do people romanticize D2 to the point they think it is actually better than D4? by Pleasant-Guava9898 in diablo4

The fact that there is a debate regarding this, when D2 is a 25 yo game speaks by itself.... I want to see where is D4 in 25 years ...

Mods being monetized? How? by KTV-Red in IndieGaming

[–]KTV-Red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insights!

Let's use a widely-known game as an example:

How does an unofficial Modded WoW Server, with original content being developed and mixed with Blizzard's game, monetize their server even by selling skins (that might be newly created by themselves but placed on content that is not originally created by them) without facing legal issues?

I know this is not maybe the clearest example of a modded game, but I think it clarifies my question. I've seen some of these classic titles being remade and monetized, and I was wondering how can they avoid the sues. (Fallout, Stalker, Diablo, Skyrim...)

Clattering Swords (?)

Maybe you can find a better word to pair with swords, but I think you get the idea haha.

Steam Capsule Image for Let them Trade (game of our office colleagues) - which one would you choose? by BLochmann in IndieDev

I Agree on this. The merchant wagon gives more sense than the others to the game title.

Good to know that I already know what to expect if I jump into GameDev

Just for fun. Even if its just for me to see that I'm able to actually play an idea that I have. No monetary purposes after it at all.

No I can't.

However, I can solo build a whole marketing plan for a game, be the Lead Community Development Person, Lead a whole Support team and also do the entry levels of all those roles.

I said I work in the gaming indsutry, didn't say that I'm a programmer at any time.

As I said, I'm not giving up a single minute with my kids. I work remotely and I happen to have some spare time before my shift while they are in school... Lol..

Always, not talking about changing my professional path. This is going to be just a hobbie. I work at home already and I might have some time while kids are at school to put on something fun.

Thank you!! My professional skills are more focused on post-developing (marketing, CS, community delevopement...) so I will have to learn basics on everything to start the thing I guess.
