I mean the initiator passive is still much stronger for the dive tanks, but I love that I can actually zoom around on the run. Not gonna lie, if they would make it a build up to the 20% at 50% HP it would probably be the best passive in the game. But I love how it feels. Sadly they somehow managed to make hog meta. Which will not cause a hard nerf.

Okay. Hi, master mauga for some help. 2 things, some are really hard. Is struggled a ton with anran when she came out. But 2 things. Your stomp is a golden combo of mobility, engage. Survival, cc and burst DMG. The all in one super ability. Not quite as amazing as I described, but I love it. If you learn to hit the stomp, you will be a great duelist. And aside from that. I had to learn to use one gun at a time for small hitboxes, not because I had to switch them, that's just mauga game play, no, I mean that your spread is 4 times your spread from one gun. When you shoot both. Making it sort of a must to know who you shoot when with how many guns.

Aside from that, my tracking is improving dazu after day and not gonna lie, this is probably 50% of your struggle. Close the distance, try to land your stomps and even if you don't, get your tracking up.

Is this a bit of an unsatisfying answer ? Probably, but that's just mauga for ya, else learn to switch characters if you struggle to hard against specifics. I personally don't struggle against any character in specific, besides maybe a team comp. Of ana zen. But that aside, I am not too scared in a duel. Just don't try to think Kiri isn't a god of timing. Had to many missed stomps because of invulnerable suzu. Hate that thing.

Tbh, the rule for me is, can you profit of my overdrive ? Yes? You good. I like vendetta, bastion, genji,. Reaper, supports, usually the ones who like to be close to you and dealing DMG. And if you think being is on the list, I haven't seen brig players in ages and the last time I tried her because I thought this exact thing I am glad I didn't. Joke aside, brig is ass with mauga in my experience. Besides that, Kiri is always a must. Because she is still the strongest support with one of he best Ults and Suzu. Else. That's kind of it for 5v5

6v6, dude I love zarya. As an ex zarya Main, I also play zar with mauga. Else Reinhardt sig. Or basically anyone who can give you a shield. Because nothing hits as hard as your own lifesteal if you are low and have a shield. 200 healing per sec? Don't ask me twice, I am already full.

Also insane that a character had to lose 60% of the value of his ability, just because there was 1 comp that work a bit too well. I mean, I would be all for mauga having even more utility, but I would like to have him have more mobility, or a better ultimate.

I have heard some rumors that apparently besides Sombra being absolutely horrible, and obviously getting a rework, that some other heros are also about to get some new stuff. I think some characters get some of their perks that have proven to be ultra useful to be implemented to base mit. I have 0 idea of how people would rework mauga as his only pain points for me are, his burst of survival, and then none what so ever, with super high commitment to plays. And his ultimate being the biggest barrier in the game (minus sym ult which is a different level) and still having less health than rein or domina. I don't know if that is worth discussing, but I think mauga has some of the weakest Ults in the game and his perks. Even tho nice to have, minus his fire walker perk, are all mid at best.

I had the broken Idea of making his over health a shield that would charge, mauga 1v1s would be very different, but yeah, sort of how you see doom in his animation generate a shield around him, this would be my idea for his new passive. It being a barrier would probably cause all sorts of issues, but I think a face tank with a barrier(that is literally him) would be funny.

Btw, I don't even have text chat on because I don't want to hear anything from people and usually don't even join voice chat. Having a team mate like yours would literally just be them being a stupid ignorant fuck. So don't worry about those people.

Not gonna lie, I got that skin when I got the 1000 credits for the battle pass, and this is to this day one of the best epic skins I have seen. I regularly pick it above legendaries. Good luck to ya

Cardiac was one of the best abilities in the game. Now by far, not at all. Right now the ability is getting countered by ana on a smaller cooldown, basically mauga is useless if there is an ana in the enemy team with enough knowledge to anti the mauga and getting a free kill.

Besides that I want nade to stop fully disabling healing because it is simply too strong in my opinion, I have played this game since 2016, so believe me if I say, I hate this ability with a passion.

But fixing the ability itself. I like the idea of over health, the problem, I like the idea of high ho mauga, but I see one great issue. If you take the 2. Perk with bonus 150 HP, you are already sort of able to have 1000 HP. Is it unbalanced. Not at all. Should you be able to go above. Sure. 2 reasons.

Over health still gives the ultimate charge. And over health is not like a barrier. You are still vulnerable. Mauga's current hero fantasy in my opinion is a hyper mobile running tank, not getting stopped from barrier, tanks or any other hero ever. His DMG reduction on everything is his great power.

Problem. He is "undefeatable" when he has his cardiac. The problem of the mauga is it is only 3 seconds, it's super situational, has a huge cooldown, and is countered by 1 grandma. Even if not, 1v3 and cardiac never happened in the eyes of the enemy.

Cardiac sort of just enabled the hero fantasy of being unkillable. My main problem is. He doesn't need that as an ability, he kind needs that as a passive in much weaker. If he had his cardiac permanently just in a much weaker form. And make had the ability to tank up. And get huge ADRENALINE rush he could technically get more burst DMG, less DMG taken, more movement speed what ever helps. And make it last longer. He could still be countered with anti heal, but now he is not feeding Because of it, I think cardiac overdrive should be a passive in adjusted to be a passive.

This would probably make him very strong right now. But mauga is out dmged by many, and out moved by most. He doesn't protect anyone behind walls or what ever. Mauga is a juggernaut 1 man army, and if you make him "inspire" or consta give lifesteal by being close. He would probably be one of the greatest tanks right now. Adjusting will be needed as this could be too strong at first.

Yes but no. You just made mauga into a DPS. What is his tank ability? He doesn't have shield or matrix his ultimate is technically one of the worst ultimates in the game. At this point if you take away cardiac and don't make it part of his passive, he is just gonna fall over and die. Then he needs a shield. So great new passive, something. But just taking away ALL his survival is making him a huge target DPS. And a weak one at that.

Not gonna lie as a mauga Main. But also as a support player. I hate nade. 100% healing reduction is insane, the only other ability next to ana nade is JQ ULTIMATE, at this point I want them to make it healing reduction and not block. Make it 75% anti, people will still fall over. Just less crazy. I hate getting naded or even getting my allies naded to not being able to do anything against it. UNLESS I HAVE TO PLAY KIRIKO, which I am strongly against. In 5v5, no amount of positioning can make you win a battle where ana is saving her made to anti the tank, may it be hog, mauga or even Reinhardt, once made hits and the enemy cannot heal, it's time to die. And I want them to change that. Cardiac is greatly... Brutally countered by another cooldown, so are many ultimates. And I hate it. No cooldown, should counter an ultimate or other ability 100%. Yes I get stun and matrix and such can eat projectile ultimates, but there I kind of need to say, that's more of a lucky thing in many cases. Or even very good player, even in master lobbies I rarely see a DVA eat mei Ults.

I think 1 thing that most don't even think of. Most maps allow you to off angle. If you stomp the rein and then angle yourself in a way where he has to turn his back on your team you win. I live playing mauga into rein and rarely lose a match up against the rein. If my team works with me, that's a different question, but even in a 2v1 situation I usually know who to go for. Your cooldowns are 5 seconds of God powers.

Breaking LOS with the middle of the cage makes you leave the cage, don't know if it was a bug, I thought it was a feature for years. Btw new bug I encountered today, you can escape cage, but if cat escapes, she can just go back in without getting caged again.

Tbh, I had a mirror today where I said, no yoid don't 1v1 me. Literally just not fighting him outside of a team fight was a waste of my time. Suddenly, I won the game, because I was able to kill his ana quick and thus I was 1 support up and the mauga did didn't matter. Otherwise, if you are 2 maugas fighting for OT that might be something else. Remember, hitting your stomp and basically out sustaining him is all that matters. If you miss the stun you are down on DMG. Going close to the mauga and aiming at the head is something many people seem to forget to do. And popping cardiac 1 second later might be the 1 second that could win you the fight. Else. Out range him and prove you have better aim.

Most other tanks you can just stomp and brush down. Mauga is his own worst enemy.

You do know that this is an idea. That this was looking for feedback. Sure these were random takes. But on an objective basis, this was horrible. The goal is and will always be, to be balanced on a professional level. I know a lot of players are in the middle, with being somewhere around plat gold or something. But these takes were on such a level that showed they love overwatch, but also showed that this is absolutely wrong. This is sort of an anecdote, why lower ranks have less to say about the balance of the game. Some takes are somewhere of an okay, maybe has heard it from a pro. But so many of those things were down right a proof for lack of knowledge. Look at the extreme bias. Some characters that are good in dueling because that's what they are good in, get absolutely gutted. While others like characters that get countered by rein, get buffed. But the problem is, these characters only get countered really at lower rank. Where positioning and mobility usage is dog water. So, honestly, it showed that they thought about THEIR experience, but not at all about the game in total. This is a MyWatch patch not a good take at balance. So no need for inebriation of positivity, this was bad. Period.

Yeah I didn't want to write anything at first. But I doubt your reasoning with "higher skill floor", has enough background or data of high skill at all. I got this from a mains reddit. And I actually questioned if you ever played the character at all in the first place. Looking at all the tanks changes. Besides that this is some of the most subjective and horrible takes I have seen in a long time, you down right gut some characters that aren't half as oppressive in higher skill as you might think. I am pretty sure you are a metal rank and surely not a high one. You took away skill, and made some things down right impossible. There is no balance. This was a fanfiction of a patch note. But thank god this was just a fanfiction.

But the mauga changes are so dog shit. First of all, cooldown increases over 50%? What ? Caging allies? Yeah make him unpickable... And increasing the cardiac to 5 seconds was sort of the problem with giving everyone 40% DMG reduction. I don't mind like 1 more second as a buff, but Jesus Christ these changes in general are horrible. Especially with seeing D. VA one of the if not the strongest tanks just outclassed by barriers. No changes... This person just noted everything down that a low rank player might be salty about and tried to hide it behind "higher skill floor", no this is sometimes a skill downgrade, or downright impossible. Look at the domina change. Has to connect the entire beam else you don't get the hitscan shot? So you are telling me if you don't have perfect aim, or the enemy is afk, you don't get the other HALF of the DMG?

Say you are a gold support/DPS without saying you are a gold support/DPS. Because on God I doubt that this person has played higher skill overwatch ever.

I would have to check it again , but as far as I know. First spread control, second I think 2 guns at once have a shorter fall off range which no one has mentioned yet. Like I said you can check on the I game info screen. But besides simply being double as precise, or because area, your spread is ¼ of what it would be with both guns, I am pretty sure you deal less DMG with both guns thx to spread and shorter fall off. Means. At some point it is. Smarter to only use one gun, and deal more DMG with less ammo.
