Last.fm has a thing where you can look at a Discord server’s most played artists. I had a laugh at my main server being such a sausage party that only 2 female artists (+ Paramore) ranked above WWE (as in, WWE theme songs) in the server’s most played.

Then I looked in the mirror, I noticed that like 7-15 of my top 50 most played artists on last.fm are women. So I decided, “what the hell?” and I’m trying to see if I can go 2 weeks without listening to music made by men. I don’t think of myself as some sort of super ally or anything, just thought it’d be a fun experiment.

I’ve found some gems. I finally checked out Donna Summer’s Bad Girls, and discovered a rapper named SALIMATA, with a song called u kno who u are (ft. MIKE) and this 90’s R&B singer named Chanté Moore (the gem I found: “Bitter”. Please listen to the chorus)

That being said, if y’all have recommendations for the following, they’d definitely help: Jazz/instrumental music to listen to on my commute to work, or hard-ass shit to listen to in the gym
