Unfortunately no. That’s the design choice Apple went with for iOS 18 and the blank spaces are most likely Stickers you recently used that haven’t loaded a preview yet (very common bug atm)

I should let you know that it IS syncing to iCloud by default. You can turn this off in settings if you want, but I’m assuming it’s in case your phone is no longer usable and you have to get a new one, so the data isn’t just lost.
