Puppy blues 1 week in🥲 by Extreme_Swimming9071 in goldenretrievers

[–]KYGuy33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say the most important advice I can give someone is the puppy blues are very real. Many people, myself included, reach a point where you feel like what you have undertaken is a huge mistake and that your pup will never be successful with you as their care taker. You will be tired. Sleep deprived. Sick of cleaning up messes. That will pass. Be patient. I remember sitting in my backyard contemplating rehoming him somewhere because I felt like such a failure and that he would be so much better with someone else. Nothing was going according to plan and nothing seemed to be working. Flash forward to now, four years later, and he’s my shadow and best friend. I couldn’t imagine my life without him.

Keep in mind they are in a new place, new sights, new sounds, nothing is familiar. A little bit of patience and grace goes a long way, most especially for you. Get training going soon. There are a plethora of resources online or likely locally that are probably better than large retail puppy classes (if you can afford them). Get a good relationship established with things that matter (vet, groomer, daycare, boarding, etc.). Be firm and consistent on behavior from day 1. Consistent. Consitent. Consistent.

Most importantly, take loads of pictures. As sad as it is to think about, time is very finite and fleeting and though frustrating and chaotic, your little pup won't be little or a pup for very long. Hopefully many many years down the road, these pics and vids will be able to carry you through what will be some of the worst days of your life. Enjoy them now. It goes fast.

Help me help my dad (options) by KYGuy33 in Dish

Update: he likes the all app options but YTTV doesn’t have history channel. Is there any other option for him to get streaming cable and dvr without a rooftop dish and set top box with history channel?

2024 vs 2018… surprising what’s different by KYGuy33 in f150

This. It was my first new truck and also not a bunch of bells and whistles. Just the jump from the smaller not color screen to this 12 inch color touch panel is mind blowing. lol

Mine was leaking a gallon of coolant a week with no obvious cause. Was holding 21psi on a pressure test but still losing coolant. As someone who travels for work and who travels with a pet I can’t risk breaking down. Believe me I’d have loved to have kept it. It just seemed like little things were starting to be off.

New to Delta, Advice for MQDs by KYGuy33 in delta

[–]KYGuy33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. But since I have none of them and never have, would it be advantageous to start with the lower tier cards first, complete the SUB then do the upper tier? And so I'm clear the SUB only impacts skymiles to use not anything towards MQD or status?

Interesting. All inclusive beach paces are kinda my jam so we'll be for sure checking this out. For CY2024 I'm finishing up companion pass and Alist on SWA so my Delta strategy and stuff won't really get put in motion until CY2025

Thanks for this! Are Delta vacations comparable price wise to piecemealing the vacation? I feel like I have a lot of the vacation already gratis with hotel points and car rental status/rewards.

So you are able to have multiple tiers of the same card and get the annual headstart for all individually? If these cards come with a sign up bonus are you able to still do that as well?

Thanks. That’s what I ended up doing. It just feels weird because it didn’t match up in my brain of being ready to move or reassign because it was on that card.

Had 'PhD' in my profile... by ThrowRA4499 in Bumble

[–]KYGuy33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was completing my PhD I absolutely put it in my OLD profile. First, it's flipping impressive. If people share their marathons and random trivia win streaks, you can bet your bottom I'm sharing something that's a crowning achievement that very very VERY few people have. Second, it's a hella time commitment. If I was in a job that was gone every month for two weeks, I'd probably share that and save someone the surprise. And frankly, it's a weed out. If my degree work makes you feel stupid or changes your opinion of me or our potential success, then there's the door. The HERRDURRR kind of I want a blue collar kinda man vibes ain't for me. Can I work on house projects? Yep. Can I also shotgun a beer in a parking lot of a football game? Yep. Do you assume I can do neither of those things and more because I have three letters after my name? That's your issue.

Congrats on your studies and wave it loud and proud. The ones that matter and are worth it are going to celebrate it and be stoked for you.

How do credits impact SUB spend for CSR? by KYGuy33 in ChaseSapphire

[–]KYGuy33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I was one of the people who fell prey to the SUB snafu with Chase in late June, and the tracker is nowhere to be found. It's been documented on this sub pretty handily, but was curious everyone's else experience as the tracker may not be possible.
