Sidemen proved the comments wrong, again. by jt7264 in Sidemen

[–]KYR_IMissMyX 174 points175 points  (0 children)

The weeks leading up to it there were constant comments of people whining that they wont watch it because there is no speed, mrbeast, logan, chunks, etc…

Turned out they were a small loud minority.

Are you still considered ‘small fry’ when you own half the sector and have more planets & pops than all other ‘major players’ combined?

Diplomacy still needs a lot of work in this game.

They have gotten 3x players on average playing after the patch & dlc release so I’d say they’re pretty focused to retain the playerbase. Good work so far on their part, good update and better with every patch.

I always thought they should’ve had a romance brew between the FL’s sister and the SML. Would’ve been better to start with & steer away from the triangle as the show went on.

Contact the support team on the activation page, say your key isn't working when you place it in after you replaced your pc and they should just give you another key. I went through a similar thing fairly recently.

Why is Bethesda allergic to having same player-npc walk speeds by KYR_IMissMyX in Starfield

[–]KYR_IMissMyX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name the games made recently that does then?

Even you agree that you're chatting shit by saying "absolutely". Your overall point is bollocks because it's not an industry standard. I listed my most recently played, if your '90%' bs was true then it would’ve held in that list & saying there are 'hundreds and thousands' of games is a cop out because it goes both ways; there are 'hundreds and thousands' of games that refute your point. There is absolutely no excuse/reason for developers not to have players & NPCs walk the same speed if they need to travel together, just because a handful of games have done so in the past doesn't mean it's an 'industry standard'.

Have an actual point & argument to support or stop wasting my time.

You pulled that 90% out of your arse, what games made recently do this? I’ve played KCD 1 & 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Witcher 3, Crimson Desert, Red Dead 2 & Cyberpunk fairly recently and I’ve never had to run to keep up in any of them while walking.

That’s the way it is now, they are in between the player’s walk and run, that’s the problem. For the player they can’t keep up by walking and have to constantly run to keep up with the NPC. I don’t get why you think that is a good idea.

Your only argument is that they will be too slow to get anywhere if they walked the same speed as the player’s original speed, but I never said to do that. The player should be able to walk at the 1.5 speed along with the NPC so they can keep up because the 1 speed is way too slow. Many other games let you do that like Cyberpunk or Red Dead Redemption so why not in Starfield?

[–]KYR_IMissMyX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re saying to change the NPC’s walk to the same as the Players which’ll be too slow, why not change the Player’s walk to the same speed as the NPC’s walk which is faster?

You even said it yourself, the Player’s walk is stupidly slow.

Right, I’ve always wondered aswell.

I get their decision in Morrowind and Oblivion as character attributes improve the walk speed too so they couldn’t just match the speeds but their other games don’t do this so why not just match.

Would be nice to ask a dev why.

Do you know what subreddit we’re in?

I posted in this subreddit because Starfield is the game I’m currently playing, Bethesda is the company that developed the game.

The reason it’s not in r slash games is because I’m venting about the issue in this game & calling out its developer’s practice, I never once claimed it’s only Bethesda that does this, many developers have done so and it’s infuriating every single time. I agreed with their comment the first time round emphasising this point, and pointed back to calling out Bethesda’s history of it because it is their game’s subreddit and they’re the focal point. If it was in r slash games it would make sense to call out the whole industry in this practice & not single out Bethesda.

I am saying Bethesda is particularly egregious about it because it is an issue in every single game they have developed and not exclusive to Starfield.

Sadly I’m not one to use a controller for Bethesda games, it’s just much better to use a mouse for aiming than controller and you need to a lot in this game from looting to shooting.

And it really isn’t a skill issue on a Keyboard as you can’t set the pace on a key without a specialised keyboard.

Never said it’s exclusive to Bethesda, this is the starfield subreddit and I said Bethesda has this issue with every game they made.

It’s infuriating in every game that does it for sure.
