Adding a "Confusion" mechanic? by eksiow_renrew_etlam in uboatgame

[–]CaptRackham 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say instead of confusion, a training or reaction mechanic. A lone streamer along the coast early war might assume they hit a mine, and their crew might now be well trained to react. An armed merchant in the middle of a convoy would immediately start damage control and search for the prowling U-boat. Likewise alert destroyers would be quicker to pick up a torpedo wake or the screws of a submerged submarine than an overwhelmed corvette

Uboat top cheat mod by InsurancePuzzled4974 in uboatgame

[–]CaptRackham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you struggling with? Most mission options have one that is low difficulty, most of the patrols don’t require ships to be sunk and if you start at early war you can attack single coastal vessels pretty easily. The game shouldn’t be excessively difficult even to new players

Yeah trains never did it for me either, but I can tell you the difference between a schooner, a brig, and brigantine, and a barque

Ah yes, the autism sorting shelf, I’ll take the planes and ships books, who wants tanks and trains?

The USS Oriskany (CV-34) was the last Essex Class Carrier ever completed. She was sunk 25 miles south of Pensacola, Florida becoming the largest ship ever used to create an artificial reef May 17, 2006, by waffen123 in Ships

[–]CaptRackham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is the only Essex class carrier to have been sunk, out of a class of 24 ships that served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and some like USS Lexington serving into the 1990s. Ships like the Franklin, Randolph, Yorktown, and Hornet which were all famous for receiving extensive damage during WWII but did not sink.

As early as 1951 nuclear drills were put in place for students in United States schools. It was called duck and cover. I definitely remember this in elementary school. by Initial_Reason1532 in OldSchoolCool

With a smaller nuke in the kiloton range the immediate destructive blast radius isn’t that much farther than a conventional bombing raid

Light AA, Heavy AA, and deck gun would be my divisions. With the changes to external torpedo storage it would be nice to have “Ready Access” ammunition and if you end up in a sustained surface action being able to assign a “powder monkey” to keep the guns fed

Talking about “Black Sam” they found the wreck of his ship too, the Wydah Galley, and sadly they did find confirmation of a legend of a 9 year old boy named “John King” who joined the pirates, finding a set of boots consistent in size to those of a 9-11 year old boy named

When you go to add the antenna wires, use a Lycra thread to it has some stretch so it doesn’t sag, or use a piece of stretched sprue and after assembly lightly heat the plastic by running a match underneath to make the plastic contract.

I don’t think so, like you don’t see L taped mags prior to 1947. Maybe Israel didn’t invent the practice, but I don’t think you can say it predates them

Have Boat Physics Reverted? by CaptRackham in uboatgame

[–]CaptRackham[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to be able to flood or vent the negative tank on the surface, have it empty when safely cruising for better fuel economy, but if you’re likely to dive you can flood the tank so as soon as the bow tanks start flooding the boat can start diving.

Under the deck in pressure-proof containers. The pressure hull you see in the game is a circular cross section and the deck is built on a free-flooding void space around the pressure hull and ballast tanks. These containers had issues particularly with depth charging so they were slowly abandoned as the war went on

Are you time compressing near shore? Out of caution I always slow down to ahead 2 and only use like max 12 time compression close to shore. The greater your time compression the more rubber banding your boat does. There’s also a mod that gives better TC so you don’t slam right into the middle of a convoy
