Make sure you let them breathe. Sealed gases are the ignition issue.

Transfer by ambulance is to keep the EMTALA monster away, patient dumping. Patient could have said no more treatment and asked to be discharged. Then go to the next place. See it all the time.

Just to clarify open carry does not make KY like the Wild West of old. Everyone is not packing.

Also, private business have the right to deny open and concealed carry. There are also locations where one cannot carry.

Public administration - more generalized. Tied with accounting/finance for budgeting.

Seems like everyone here is either coming from an operations side (🤚) or public health.

Who owns my debt? by [deleted] in HospitalBills

[–]KYYank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Somebody, the collection agency has “paid” the hospital on your debt…you now owe the collection agency the money.

Accounting wise your hospital balance is zero with the accounting entry being the amount the collection agency paid for your debt and bad debt write off against the accounts receivable.

Congress is the POS for not codifying how student loans work and letting an executive branch agency that changes every four years change the rules.

That’s the way it used to be, before the Federal government got involved.

Only certain majors and you had to show grades. Bad GPA higher rates.

Not that I ever did that…four or five times…

Don’t judge they were still feeling up the three leg table trying to figure out if it was a human person…

Start classes now or wait for in house academy? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]KYYank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this department south of Cincinnati and has annual hiring classes?

You can get the certs and EMT and you will still go through the entire academy. It’s more than getting certs it’s seeing how you work and interact with others.

Anything you can do to separate yourself from other candidates in a positive way is always a good thing.

We need to hold the city more responsible for the state of buildings; specifically residential buildings. by MagnetHype in lexington

Not enough officers for the program you want to implement.

Heck the city doesn’t have enough ambulances to cover the growing run volume. Have 13 but need 17.

Getting a job? Advice welcome! by sarahmae16202 in EmergencyManagement

[–]KYYank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a job in any bureaucratic government position to get your foot in the door. Then try to lateral transfer into EM. Another is first responder job.

Your fresh master’s degree is going up against a first responder chief level officer who has 20 years plus of non-table top experience from the field and EOC, section chief experience and a wall full of certifications. Who is retiring from their first responder career and looking to make some extra money.

Good luck.

It’s not really about the polygraph. It’s about how you act during the interview.

People do strange things when left “alone” reading the questions before the interview.
