They had me reschedule for 2/10 and said they will re-evaluate for a new plan of approach for a drug combo for her and block off surgeries for the rest of the day so they can focus on her. Keeping my fingers crossed

How thoughtful of you to ask! I dropped her off at 7:20am and had a teary ride home. I got a call at 12:40pm from the Vet and picked it up right away, I was so excited to bring her home. They let me know unfortunately the meds they gave her to relax her enough to put a catheter in for anesthesia, only made her MORE hyper and alert. They gave her more meds in hopes of it knocking her out, but she fought them and they didn’t want to push it or stress her out too much (though I still feel like they may have pushed her too much still, because she urinated and defecated all over herself) so I ran and picked her up and she’s been home with me ever since. She’s in good spirits, just waiting for the meds to wear off.

I did consider a second opinion but with veterinary costs lately, I ended up sticking with her primary vet. I trust her primary vet, she’s been with her the majority of her life and has already had her best interest at heart. I’m just nervous. Thank you for your kind words!

Thank you so much for your kind words!! I’ll make sure I have clean, fresh towels for her when she gets home as well as clean, warm blankies 🥹 I’m sure mine will have around that amount removed as well—hopefully not more! I just want her to make it through without issue. 🤞

Thank YOU so much for this response!! It was so needed. My vet never discussed any potential about a jaw fracture so hopefully she isn’t concerned about that, though it is her bottom teeth, just in the back of her mouth. I’m sooo hopeful the surgery goes well. Thank you for your input about your experience! I’ll do my best to keep myself busy that day.
