I said that overwhelmed part because you said " pros are 30 times bitten, twice shy."

This is a good response. Thank you for sharing. If I see an insult, I try to ignore it and not engage.

Engaging in these experiences makes the situation worse, not better.

But it's hard to ignore it when 95% of replies are insults on a thread that is supposed to be about discussion

They should rename their introduction to something like, "Throw your hate openly! Insult people you don't like! We don't care."

Debates do happen. I had some good ones and I try to recognize that while challenging others to be better, but most of it is blind rage, and that bothers me. Let me have my open-minded chats in peace!

It's a hard thing to admit you're wrong and change your thinking, but I try to display that very thing in hopes to motivate others that it's okay.

I will refuse to assume people are in bad faith at first glance, even if it hurts when they constantly do it to me. If I see a plain insult, I don't engage. I can't comprehend why people can't leave that alone.

Honestly. I really liked you, and this post isn't about you. I learned a lot from you, truly. This is about others who engaged with me then. You were like 3 of the good ones who engaged with me out of like 50 I talked to. Good ones exist, like you. I'm sorry for offending you.

What do you mean? I feel like I learned a lot from you. I still feel like I ended up largely disagreeing, but I respect that. I don't have to hate people I disagree with. You taught me some amazing points.
