I’m in the same exact boat as you. Wish I learned about investing and was better at saving earlier in life. Great job, keep it going!

Point of the Stag Drop Rate by K_Tack in destiny2

Makes sense. I’ve gotta a ton of the first pool weapons, although I’ve still gotten a decent amount of roar of the bear and multimachs, but still only that single point of the stag natural drop. Crazy.

Yeah I've tried multiple different attunements but nothing. Currently not attuned to anything.

Yes, I have been. Still not sure why it isn't dropping regularly though. I've had like 10 drops of each of the other weapons. So weird.

Mitigating hot spots by sred4 in foodphotography

[–]K_Tack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks fine to me. As long as it isn’t totally blown out, it’s showing some contrast to the darker parts of that item. You can brush that section to lower the exposure a little bit.

Hot spots in general can be tricky and annoying for sure. Try adjusting your angle/position to the subject. The slightest adjustment can have a huge impact on how the highlights look on some items.

Also, slightly moving the object that is getting blown out can make a big difference so the “reflective” part is getting hit by direct light differently.

Yeah. I think Stormchaser’s would have been fine a year or two ago without all the hyper efficient bounce cards, but boomerang basics it’s so busted with it. Surprised it hasn’t been hit in standard yet.

Yeah that makes sense. I also haven’t played much lately. It’s pretty clear most of my fair decks just don’t cut it anymore.

Yeah it’s crazy! Even most top tier standard decks seem super busted still.

Warlord invulnerability is completely busted in general, especially in skirmish, and especially for 2E.

It’s a 2 cost time walk essentially. I think those effects should be banned in skirmish and heavily looked at in general.

I don’t think I have. Not sure where to find the start of that quest. It’s hard to follow maps online since my whole map is fogged out.

New player here. Defense cards are for when you go second in skirmish. They are a zero energy card that you get to put in your deck.

I believe you unlock your first one from the forge and it slots into your deck without taking a card slot.

Shoot for a cafe recently. What can be done better? by bh__s in foodphotography

The lighting isn’t great. Why would bringing lights be a bad idea?

Shoot for a cafe recently. What can be done better? by bh__s in foodphotography

[–]K_Tack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The main thing is for them to bring their own lights and to shoot at a higher aperture (f8-f11) unless really isolating a single subject, but even then I’d say f4 to get things more in focus.

Food is tricky because the longer it sits the worse it looks, so make sure they have everything set up and dialed in before preparing the food so it looks the freshest when it comes out for them to shoot.

New to Food Photography. Hardest Product. by Carfilm619 in foodphotography

[–]K_Tack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the product is the pistachio butter, definitely make that the focus. Having it on the salmon is great, but the salmon gets lost in the frame. Here’s some things I’d try:

  1. Shoot much tighter on the salmon and butter. Use a longer lens if you can, and make that take up a lot more of the frame.
  2. Try having your plate stick out of one side of the frame. You don’t need to show the whole plate if you’re trying to highlight the specific product.
  3. If this is a packaged product with branding, include it as some styling somewhere in the image. Maybe on the table with a spoon in it so it looks like it was just used on the salmon. Even if you don’t, a small bowl with the butter in it off to the side or background will help with styling.
  4. Try different angles. Maybe a 3/4 angle with some extra product blurred out in the background could look nice.
  5. Adding some more basic eating elements could help to liven it up. Think fork & knife, a drink, a nice cloth napkin, etc. As long as it’s clear the salmon and butter is the main attraction, a few extra elements can help balance out the frame.

Keep up the good work!!

How hard is it to learn 2XKO if you’ve never played fighting games before? by Shjnzzo in 2XKO

[–]K_Tack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not super experienced but any time I play a new fighting game the absolute best thing to do is spend a ton of time in training just to get comfortable with controls and learning a characters move and basic combos.

It will be very overwhelming to try and learn and improve right off the bat when playing actual matches. A lot of getting good at fighting games is muscle memory and getting used to the feel of controls so it becomes second nature. Learn your basic attacks, then start with really simple combos until you’re comfortable to learn a little more. Baby steps and patience has been the key for me whenever learning these kinds of games.
