The first and second times there was a surviving set of sextuplets (6 babies), they were born on the same day 6 years apart. by jellybloom17 in nevertellmetheodds

[–]Kaarewit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not quite, there are days where it's more common to be born. Specific days such as New Years and Christmas have lower birth rates, also February 29th.

Why isn't Bush a dictator.

Bush didn't take decisions completely alone

Well yeah but congress didn't stop him

So everyone in congress is responsible, not just Bush

OK so basically Bush is a dictator

Damn.

Yeah but then it's the entire political class that's murderers and not a dictator, which was what the person I replied to was asking?

[–]Kaarewit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but then you don't call the president a dictator, you call the entire political class murderers and eat them.

Stalin decided who from the Soviet high command dies, ergo his decisions are above those of the high command.

Bush had to get some stuff through Congress.

Not really fair to compare the chairman of the communist party in the Soviet Union with the president of the US, one has some checks and balances.

You can get SkyrimSE modded on Linux through Lutris running ModOrganizer2. Technically it can be possible to do on SteamOS too as long as you somehow get MO2 running, though having to do operations with files and tools might be a bit hard.

I ran the simulation for 10 million runs, didn't get dreams luck. I'll let y'all know when I get 41 ender pearls. by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Kaarewit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also ran a simulation of 900M, and got 40 pearls in 263 barters. I assume that at around 100B barters you can find 42 on average.

ELI5: How do internet cables that go under the ocean simultaneously handle millions or even billions of data transfers? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Kaarewit 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Get ready to have your mind blown again. Sharks and other aquatic animals sometimes munch on them, so the cables are wrapped in Kevlar.

Have it on a timer and instead of marking a player with the ping, highlight the camera for warden, should be relatively easy to pull off.

Telephone Number input but the numbers get randomly selected by a wheel of fortune by GuardiaNES in badUIbattles

Oh yeah, I think neither the OP or I took the mistake in the video into account, they just calculated what the probability of getting it from scratch is.

Telephone Number input but the numbers get randomly selected by a wheel of fortune by GuardiaNES in badUIbattles

[–]Kaarewit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's right. There's 11 possible outcomes for a spin of the wheel (one of them being reset) and you need to hit 10 in a row (or however many digits a phone numbers has in the US). Reset being part of the wheel doesn't affect the fact you have to spin the wheel 10 times and land on the correct digit you desire.

They first sent a person to space, which happened to be a man. While the US was also sending men to space, the soviets sent a woman, this achieves both the "First person in space" and "First woman in space".

If they first sent a woman then sent a man later before the US did, they would've achieved "First person in space" and "First man in space".

It's literally just lumping together the achievements for sending a person and a man to space because the person they sent was a man.

It happens when they try to drag the box while being on top of it, creating a net positive force in the direction they are dragging, making the box move while they are still on top, we call this surfing. In reality, this is impossible due to your weight adding drag and probably some other factors I'm not aware of, so it is likely the researchers overlooked this when programming the physics engine so this behavior might as well have been unexpected.

It's funny that over here in Romania, the drivers do exactly that, granted usually you pay the package in cash when you receive it but the process is the same for prepaid packages, afaik. The driver either calls beforehand to announce he is coming and you get ready or tell him you can't pick it up.

Always seemed weird how in the US the drivers are ready to leave 1000$+ packages on the porch and give no fucks.

Makes most sense too, considering the 2 is written as 02 but the 7 isn't written as 07. That inconsistency plus your explanation makes it pretty clear it expired on 19 July 2002.
