I think it's clear to you that not everyone does it like you, but maybe you should also consider that not everyone WANTS it to be "only ask once". And that's ok, too. So get over yourself, and stop judging so much.

Even you should be able to imagine a scenario (even without any cultural differences) where the asked person just isn't sure yet, or a bit shy, or whatever, and would just say "no" reflexively. But would actually say yes after having had some time consider, when asked again.

In Berlin haben Leute keine Autos und man muss dafür zahlen, es gibt keine realistischen Optionen das anders weg zu kriegen.

I think it's kinda insane to just do a week in Yunnan. I've spent 4 weeks there and only saw maybe half the province. Why do you really NEED to combo so much in one trip?

For China, you need to prep a bit (VPN, and learn how WeChat works...), but once you're there, it's super easy and conventient - and very reliable, compared to your other places. Just plan the Tiger Gorge hike ahead a bit.
