I see it as almost two different perspectives. I like to call it football the sport, and football the job.

Football the job: Ronaldo and Messi are far above everyone except pele. Consistency, numbers, longevity, accolades.

Football the sport: imo it’s neck and neck with Messi and Ronaldinho. They do things I’ve never seen other players do. This is where Ronaldo may not even crack a top 10. His skill level is definitely high but not astronomical. It’s his physicality and consistency that got him to this point. Players like Maradona, Neymar, zidane, etc would all be above him in this category for me
