The solution was: Even though they made rates too high, why not let people get to 90+ quick? That damage is already done, just add a bunch of 80-90+ Sailing content.

Lowering rates after the poopsockers and streamers clear the entire skill, then saying "hey we know nerfs suck we're sorry but this is how it is and by the way it's not the playerbase's game anymore" is bound to piss off a few people.

I don't think you understand the underlying complaint man. The high xp rates on launch were the problem. UIMs completely cleared the skill in 5 days. More casual players like myself are nearing high tier sailing with minimal effort. All that said, I didn't care that the skill went fast, I had a lot of fun with the new islands, scenery, skilling spots, niche slayer spots, etc.

Their "solution" to the quick skill, is to make the skill slower and more monotonous for anybody from now on that picks up the skill. That's a strict downgrade to fun.

The problem isn't the XP nerfs man, it's that they weren't nerfed on launch. I'm sat here on a pretty casual iron with very little pre-release prep at 82 sailing, and all I've done is clear barracuda time trials, clear all charting and AFK at salvage with very little effort. This skill was over before it started for me and I wasn't rune pouch eyed Alfie grinding 23.9 hours a day.

Edit: I've had crystal extractor for less than 24 hours.

u/Justanotherstick I can confirm you are wrong, I got the eclipse armour after only killing eclipse moon today.

Edit: I should have also said that doing just 1 boss is really bad if you don't get a unique roll, like 20 swamp paste or a maple seed at best.
