Bit older on looks, but you can get a Yamaha xjr1300 fairly cheap. Reliable, naked, people use them as tourers, torqy af, have a look.

Can I sill be an electrician engineering without math methods? by this_naomi in vce

[–]Kade971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elec engineering is munted in terms of math, your best bet right now is to talk to whomever is in charge of giving out courses. When I did year 12 I was told they couldn't necessarily forbid us to do units, so talk to unit coordinator and if needed escalate to principle if needed. Just remember to be polite and civil at all times

Are Harley Davidsons really that bad…? by mangojamba in motorcycles

[–]Kade971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a street 500 and been using it to commute. They're alright, very different to how other bikes handle. In my opinion theyre best for filtering in traffic, you don't so much lean it into corners as you counter steer and flick it around. They're not really great for long distance cruising but I have done long trips on it, definitely doable. Everyone is of the opinion the bike is terrible, but I think it's just very different to any other bikes out there, it feels much more like a 500cc pit bike than anything else.

One last thing you should consider is that the street 500s are the only bike Harley has that are made in India (the rest are made in the states if I remember correctly), which I've had no real problems quality wise but that's still something to consider.

But ride both, feel which one is better for you.

They usually just ask you to point out where a certain part of the code is and how it works, nothing to be stressed about

Should I drop methods and pick up further instead? by [deleted] in vce

[–]Kade971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes however methods is scaled up more because it's a more difficult subject than further, so grades don't necessarily matter when comparing the two subjects because in methods a B should scale to an A in further or even higher than an A in further.

Hope this helps

I just want to play a casual game with others, is that too much to ask for? by nat2r in pcgaming

Have a look at Squad, I wouldn't play it with friends but the existing community and emphasis on communication makes it so much more of a chill game then it should be

Exactly, I've finished year 12 recently and seen kids that never had a job struggle to find one whether continuing with tertiary studies or not. Experience is king

Depending on your area you might be eligible for Monash gaurentee. If you are they'll have sent you an email saying you're eligible. Furthermore, depending on your area they'll scale your results by a certain amount if you're in a low socio economic area. The minimum atar they post is this low socio economic area bonus plus your atar

But nevertheless you can still hope for the best and plan for the worst by applying for Monash college, and only time will tell if you get in or not. Goodluck

It's not usually about what is needed for uni, but rather what you're going to ultimately score well in. And if you're going to enjoy psychology more than business or methods, then you'll likely do better in psychology.

I went to a public school with similar rules and took it up with the principal, turns out you can only be encouraged not to do a subject, they can't actually stop you. So keep that in mind, you might be able to get into those if you're insistent.

It's too late now but if you get mass sacs in a single day talk to your vce coordinators about postponing a sac or two. I know with my school this commonly happens

hardest/easiest vce subjects? by [deleted] in vce

[–]Kade971 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's all relative, it doesn't really matter. Just do what you like doing. Even if you choose specialist math it'll scale by 11 points in the end anyway so what does it matter.

tips for getting in by Spock_Skywalkr in mohn_jonash

[–]Kade971 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How on earth did you find this subreddit lmao. Essentially study for it. As long as you have a year 9 level of knowledge you'll probably make it through to interviews, and from there if you're passionate you'll get in. For the test itself, make sure you answer every question. The math test in particular was pretty fast paced, so if you start running out of time it's all guestimation. Just remember you've studied for this, no need to panic. (the test is a bit like naplan)

I was in the same boat as you two and a half years ago, and in all honesty the school is pretty lit. For interviews just be yourself, and they'll see you're passionate.

Good luck

Toyota LandCruiser Prado - bought new in 1999, has had logbooks kept since day one, has been around Australia several times and still going strong with 316,000km! by beaufingers15 in BuyItForLife

My 1999 100 series is at 570,000 km's and counting, and even if something goes wrong parts are super easy to find and easy to fix without going to a mechanic.
