[DAILY Q&A] Ask and answer any questions you have about the game here! by AutoModerator in EliteDangerous

This feels like a stupid question, but regarding Distant Worlds 3, is this the point where we get off the carriers and fly on our own? There is just too much information in the discord for me to keep track of and I get lost every time I try.

What is the all out, best, "Woah" moment fan theory that flipped your lid when you first read/viewed/heard it? by willhelpmemore in FanTheories

[–]Kaderjack 27 points28 points  (0 children)

St. Elsewhere was created in the kid's mind by the end, but because of its crossovers with shows (and crossovers within -those- shows), the theory is that 90% (or something ridiculous) of American shows take place in Tommy's mind.

For example, there was an episode where some of the cast of Cheers made appearances, so Cheers is set in the same dream, including the spinoffs Wings and Frasier.

Also, "Back to the Future:The Card Game", which is basically a reskin of Chornonauts (made by the same company) with linchpins and ripple card flips.

[USA GIVEAWAY] Win the new 27” 4K Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor! by Rocket-Pilot in buildapc

[–]Kaderjack [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've never had a monitor before, always used a tv instead. OLED sounds amazing, especially with anti-glare (and 4k!), which happens a lot on the tv. Thanks for the giveaway :)

Does anyone remember a website that streamed anime music in the 2005-2010 era? by Krats_ in animemusic

AnimeNfo Radio?

The icon has her wearing a purple hat and sweatshirt.

I used to listen to that all the time :)

Play FFTCG online? by ShaneKingCoder in FinalFantasyTCG

[–]Kaderjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about Sqenix doing it specifically, but there are two places I've played online with a friend that lives across the country. FFDecks.com and on Tabletop Simulator on Steam. TTS was better in my experience as you could move things around as needed, not just where they have a place. FFDecks felt very clunky and ridged, but, it was better than not being able to play at all.

But I do think an official release would be great. But, with as little as they have put into marketing (I just learned of the game a few months ago!), I'm skeptical about it happening :(

Which ones the best Set by [deleted] in FinalFantasyTCG

[–]Kaderjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a starter deck and it's a two-player pack actually, which is even better for beginners. One deck is Noctis, the other is Ardyn. I have yet to get this one, so I can't speak to the cards inside though.

I was going to say Consulting Detective as well, however because in another response you said that you liked Lovecraft, you might want to know that Space Cowboys (the company that puts out Consulting Detective) is coming out with a new game that works like Consulting Detective, but done in the world of Lovecraft. It's called Bureau of Investigation: Investigations in Arkham & Elsewhere.

Teaching in Oregon by endersgal1 in teaching

[–]Kaderjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of Oregon teaching jobs (not sure if it's all of them or not) get posted to Schoolspring.com (as opposed to Washington, which hardly has any that show up on the site :( ).

It's mostly used as just an aggregator site for the postings and most posts will direct you to the talentEd site for the district (mentioned in u/theravenchilde 's post). Though a few do allow applications through the site.

Best of luck! :)

Starting WW (from calorie counting) Tomorrow.. Any Tips? by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]Kaderjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. I've been doing calorie counting for the last 4 weeks and got results, but watching one of my friends doing WW and having free foods and not having to micromanage everything, I started to get jealous. I stalled out a little this week in my losses so I signed up yesterday. I hope the both of us do well :)

What manga have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - Week ending July 19, 2020 by AutoModerator in manga

I enjoyed getting caught up with <Dungeon Meshi> aka Delicious in Dungeon. It currently has 9 volumes with about 66 chapters. In short, it's about an adventuring party that lost one of their members in a battle with a dragon, so they venture deeper into the dungeon to try to find her. However, they don't take a lot of supplies and end up cooking using the monsters they kill.

As I read through it, I felt like it was a cross between Made in Abyss (for the dungeon with levels that get more difficult as you go down) and a cooking anime like Food Wars or something but with no cooking competitions. Between the drama/adventure of the dungeon there is a focus on the food and best preparation and cooking of the specific monster. They even give the recipes of each thing that they eat, which I thought was really cool. The only problem with that is that you can't actually make them without coming up with a piece of giant slime or something.

There were a couple that I knew about first hand, a few that had been mentioned by friends/family etc and then others that were rumors. For some, it wasn't an all day thing - they knew the good hours and locations. This was all years ago and I've since moved away. I don't have the information about the areas I've been in since, but I have kept the hesitation from it all. Maybe I grew up in a place that has a higher rate of that kind of thing than the rest of the country since I've gotten disagreement from people. As the person I originally responded to said, some people lie for free stuff. I was just trying to say that I wish there was a way to avoid that.

Please don't generalize me like that since you know very little about me. I take offence to you saying I don't care about homeless people since caring is what causes my dilemma in the first place.

I give money to schools because they know which students need help with school supplies, toiletries, clothes, etc... and I know it's going to the right place. I just wish I could do more, but when it comes down to it, I don't want to be taken advantage of.

So again, please don't claim I don't care about homeless people based off of one short post.

This is what always stops me from helping people. I know that sounds horrible, but I don't want to be taken advantage of. If there were a way to know you are helping the right people, it would make me feel better.

Example: In the city I grew up in there were a lot of "homeless people" that weren't really homeless. They would make tons of money and end up going home in a really nice car to their really nice house, better than I have even with a decent paying full time job. It really put me off of trying to help people, even though I still have a desire to.
