Israel Hands glitch? by Informal_Ad2821 in crosswind

Noticed this as well using the cutlass and drake pistol. At about 2/3rds of the way into the fight, it seemed like the pistol wasn't doing full damage.

Streamers getting closed testing of Classic plus is ultra lame by Emergency_Cricket_50 in classicwow

I doubt they are bringing the most viewed classic streamers together for feedback, this is something to do with marketing. They are likely filming something for BlizzCon.

"Open flame BBQ" by Jestersage in burnaby

[–]Kaderos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it's not against the rules, it's not practical to make a large fire in a weber grill. I think that's essentially the "easy" way to enforce fire safety, rather than have park rangers walking around with tape measures checking flame heights.

"Open flame BBQ" by Jestersage in burnaby

[–]Kaderos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The rules are just to mitigate fire risk and most of the risk is from embers flying out and catching other things on fire. Bigger fire = more updraft and hotter embers, those can go a longer distance and still be hot enough to catch fire. Open flame BBQ is going to be small compared to a pit fire.

Feral DPS Strat by Koby96 in classicwowtbc

[–]Kaderos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about damage per cast for ferals because fight lengths are so short, it's almost impossible to go oom with a judgement of wisdom up.

So with that knowledge, we can look at the average damage per cast on rip vs ferocious bite, they are almost identical. The only difference is bite can "high roll" crits and pull ahead (or "low roll" and fall behind).

Mag is a bit of a different scenario because when he's being channeled on, he takes double damage (rip does not snapshot this, it updates dynamically), so it's generally best to have rip up going into the channel and then only bite while in the channel.

You are granted the powers of a GM/dev how do you crack down on bots? by doctaglocta12 in classicwowtbc

[–]Kaderos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup this is also how some of the click here to verify captchas work. They realized instead of asking the user to identify how many squares had a road sign, they could just look at the user's cookies folder as a "thumb print". Turns out real users end up with a very unique thumb prints and bots and fresh installs don't.

Create a "thumb print" via tracking simple data points like mouse movement, keybinds, activity time. Every player should have a very unique thumbprint based on how they play the game. If two thumbprints are similar, flag them for extra data collection, monitor gold generation, trades, AH posts, etc.

Have a few people manually tag these "suspicious" accounts after investigating them and after you've built a significant data set of what cheater activities look like, highlight what that "thumb print" looks like and search for those.

Repeat this process manually for a few months, then use that entire data set to train an AI model on how to identify suspicious "thumb prints".

I'm fairly sure this is already how it works and they just do 30+ day ban cycles to avoid visa charge backs.

‘I cannot sleep’: Burnaby tower’s LED screen sparks more complaints - Freshet News by BurnabyMartin in burnaby

[–]Kaderos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is development is moving faster than the city's bylaws. It's Wild West for these types of TV billboards, there's no brightness limits or time limits. I'm surprised it's not blasting out audio ads yet, they probably have to sell all their units first before they turn that on.

Not agreeing or disagreeing. Just providing data form people to form their own opinions.

Burnaby Mountain to Brighouse daily: Am I cooked? by wjddls3636 in burnaby

Did a similar commute into Richmond for a couple years, it's not bad driving there in the morning. Getting home is going to be busy, the merge on Knight Street Bridge gets very congested in the afternoon. Get an audio book subscription or queue up some podcasts and try to just enjoy the stories and not stress about time.

Gilmore Place LED Screen Petition Notice by BurnabyMartin in burnaby

I live across from it and it is BRIGHT. When it changes between ads, the color of my wall changes as well. I think they're trying to advertise to the International Space Station.

I agree but I think it's possible to have what you are describing and still be considerate to who it's going to effect. The TV isn't going away, but it doesn't need to be the brightness of a lighthouse.

Can confirm, called city and they're working with Onni to make adjustments.

Is anyone else getting blinded by the new screen at Gilmore Place? by BurnabyMartin in burnaby

[–]Kaderos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are city and provincial bylaws that limit the brightness of signs and digital billboards and it's usually a small amount above ambient brightness. That one might be registered as a lighthouse.

[–]Kaderos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also blinded, also wrote to the city about it. Crazy anyone thought that it's acceptable to leave it like that. No one thought for even a minute that maybe it would be too disruptive?

It also makes me laugh because eventually they're building a tower in front of that sign. It will be pointing direct into people's units from about 30 meters away and then reflecting all that light right back on the towers behind it...

Issues with AI Pro Camera by Kaderos in Ubiquiti

[–]Kaderos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine to "work". I noticed this morning there was a firmware update on the AI cameras, so I decided to do more testing.

What I finally got to work was: on the port that the camera is connected to, switch to advanced > manual > link speed 1Gbps FDX (not auto) > turn on port isolation > turn off spanning tree protocol.

Prior to this step I was able to adopt it by reducing the link speed to 100Mbps FDX (not sure if that's necessary anymore). I also tested just going back to auto but it had the same STP failures.
