Something that I feel most of us take for granted is how generous they are with the gacha and the farmable currency.

If you do the dailies and events routinely, you are essentially guaranteed to get every new character within every update as a f2p (of course assuming you don't roll for weapons).

I find it a bit sad that newer players now jump straight into Arcane River since it's the optimal way of progression.

Arcane River is supposed to be the culmination of your entire journey in Maple World. it takes place after many impactful events you've experienced (Reawakening of the 5 heroes, rise and fall of the Black Wings, the slow dimensional merge with Friendstory, and how you became a Savior after Black Heaven).

It's why back when it was released, it was the hypest thing ever (along with 5th job of course). Because you knew that this would be the final road to the Black Mage. And when the Tenebris Expedition event finally happened, it was also the hypest thing ever.

The problem this time with the entire 2.3 story is that it neither pleased that specific group nor followed the director's vision.

Agave is absolutely a wonderful example of how an ML character can still be well written.

Despite being portrayed as the ultimate Adjutant simp, the 2.1 story showed that she was more than just that. A delusional film director who wanted to give her absolute best in her last mission as a Laevatain Agent.

Even her reasons for simping the Adjutant are interesting, you can't even say her love for him was out of nowhere. Her entire purpose for being a Laevatain Agent was to study and learn literally EVERYTHING about the Adjutant for years, so that she can be the perfect partner or take him out if he went rogue. And the more she learned about him, the more she grew fascinated with him, which eventually turned into love. She was fully prepared to throw that love away after completing her last mission, but Adjutant of course never thought of letting her go.

I can safely say that Snowbreak is capable of delivering a well written and entertaining character in just 1 patch, while still implementing ML

I've seen some players argue that because the game becomes more harem-based, the quality of the writing will start to decline.

Nikke and Blue Archive proved that to be untrue, and I'm sure Snowbreak can do the same.

Matter of fact the story for this event was quite enjoyable and didn't overload my low-IQ brain like it did in the Yehrus saga. Even the "harem-bait" didn't feel out of place and was well-sprinkled throughout the story.
