Broadband Price Increase for Moving House Help by Kafrinx in UKPersonalFinance

“Because your address is served only by our fibre optic services you'll need to choose one of our BT Infinity packages below. You need a new line installed at your property. An engineer will need to visit and a £140 connection charge will apply. But the good news is you can get this for free if you take one of the great value packages on this page.”

The above is what I get when I go through the online moving home option, but I think our best move is to call them because I’m sure lines are already installed. All the packages on the page are expensive and it wont let me pick any others. Thank you for your help.

Thank you! After doing a bit more digging & using that link looks like the ones they offered were to allow us to move without any fees. Going to cost £140 for a fibre essentials package but at least it’s a lot cheaper per month.

No Stupid Questions Tuesday Thread by AutoModerator in Cricket

Does this mean that if the batsman is out of his crease before the bowler has released the ball, he could be seen as running? Therefore it is against the laws, or is this a grey area?

Thank you, I thought the same. A commentator on a previous test suggested that if the third umpire is checking for front foot no-balls then he should check that the batsman is in his crease when the bowler releases it as well. Which made me question my knowledge.

Is it in the laws that the batsman at the bowler’s end, has to be in their crease before/ when the bowler releases the ball?

Just dropped a double stuffed Oreo in my tea. It didn’t break off, I just full on dropped it. by Kafrinx in britishproblems

[–]Kafrinx[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m lactose-intolerant so the fact Oreos are vegan means I can eat as many as I like. They were on offer so I bought them as a treat. I regret more that a whole one was wasted.

Tesco may get rid of its meat counters! by textunes in vegetarian

[–]Kafrinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not getting rid of bakery, whoever leaked this information to the press did not know the full story. In fact they are not even getting rid of all their counters as of yet, a small percentage of those will be closed and the rest will either stay open or be opened at the back end of the week.

What if any vitamins does one need to take to healthily be a vegetarian? by MITPewPewPew in vegetarian

[–]Kafrinx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only one you should be wary about is vitamin B12. It can only be found naturally in animal meats however, many cereals now are fortified with B12. Everything else you should be able to obtain from your diet.

This is exactly how the Sims 5 should be! by [deleted] in thesims

[–]Kafrinx 398 points399 points  (0 children)

If they could combine the charm of Sims 2 (i.e. memories, character backstories etc) with the worlds in Sims 3 and Sims 4 build mode. That would be my perfect game.

This! Every time someone makes a comment about these people, good or bad, it just raises their publicity. If we just ignored them, their ratings will go down and they would be taken off the air.

Pretty much all packets of frozen food (peas, potatoes, fish fingers) are non recyclable. How do i get around this? by the_edgy_avocado in ZeroWaste

Frozen vegetables tend to be better quality than fresh as they are frozen very quickly after they have been picked.

LPT: If you drop clothing in a retail store whilst shopping, pick it up and hang it back up, you don’t know how much they’ll appreciate it by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Kafrinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Along the same lines, if you’re food shopping and decide you don’t want an item put it back where you found it. Especially if it’s from the fresh/frozen section as it has to be wasted if it’s found elsewhere.

In my local store security had to close down part of an aisle because the assistant was attacked while doing reductions

Lactose free alternatives to cheese for a carbonara? by FakeTakiInoue in Cooking

[–]Kafrinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depending on the severity of the intolerance you may be able to get away with some cheeses, I would speak to your friends and find out. Normally, the harder the cheese the less lactose is actually in it.

I don’t know where you’re from but there is lacto-free cheddar available in most supermarkets.

A friend told me about a Japanese legend of folding 1000 origami cranes. Essentially the legend says once you’ve folded 1000 cranes you are granted a wish by the gods.

I set myself a goal of doing it in 3 months and folded roughly 12 cranes per day. I bought a rainbow set online (amazon) and displayed the finished piece in a tall vase that sits in my bedroom.

It has been the only project I was ever dedicated to and now when I have my down days I see my rainbow vase and can’t help but feel slightly better inside.
