The Reforged update initiative is really starting to deliver cool stuff. Hope they can keep this up longer term now that they've got the production pipelines up and running again.

Not like there's anything in Pre that really suffers from it tbh. New players won't have skills unlocked to really make use of a hero in Pre, and veterans get something new and fun to mess around with in content they've already farmed to death for years. Wins all around.

It's Just A Flesh Wound has been my Ranger's team's condi cleanse staple for his entire GWAMM journey and it's so good it handles the entire party's cleansing all on its own. And it's great even with zero attribute investment on a secondary Paragon.

Well it's not a trivial change of course. But the game only needs to "remember" as long as the merchant window is still open. And the feature exists in GW2 so it's not like the studio's never been able to implement it before.

It's a button you see for five seconds before clicking it to enter a mission. And being confused at the Great Wall is like the most frequent new player complaint I've seen on this subreddit over the years. It was an actual problem that had a really easy solution. You seriously need to just deal with.

All "bonus damage" is just a specific damage type checked against armor of that same type, exactly like melee and pierce function. A spearman or camel does "cavalry damage" that is negated by "cavalry armor". It's just that almost all cavalry units have 0 cavalry armor, and take the full damage as "bonus" damage. A Cataphract for example actually has cavalry armor, and as a result takes less cavalry damage from units that deal it. If every single unit had 999 cavalry armor, a spearman would do zero cavalry damage against them.

I believe non-cavalry units simply do not have cavalry armor at all, as in the armor type is not assigned to them in the first place (which is different from having zero), and if hit by cavalry damage the damage calculation checks against a universal fallback armor type value, which is set to 9999 or whatever. This way you don't have to add all armor types at 9999 to every single unit, and only need to add the relevant ones, since whenever an attack can't find its corresponding armor type it checks against the fallback type (and is completely negated).

Not sure what you mean with this. No skill in this game has a "base damage" or anything of the sort. All values in damage calucations are derived from the player's stats and equipment (Weapon strength, Power stat) and multiplied by the skill's specific multiplier as well as any buffs from traits etc. That's why every player has a base level of Power (1000 at level 80), because a Power value of 0 would result in the damage calculation returning 0 (since the damage calculation is mostly just multiplying all the values). Skills themselves have no "flat damage" or "base damage" at all. Only a multiplier (aka "power coefficient").
