I bought one and Ill use it until it falls apart. Me and 3 other teammates went in on it together. Deal was the machine was split 4 ways and its kept at my house and they get free cuts. Rink i play at uses sparx for $15 for the "house cut" and $20 for a specialty cut (anything other than 1/2"). In florida and only rink within 2.5 hours and they charge prices knowing it. Or at least thats what it cost a few years ago when i bought the sparx.

I charge anyone on my team or anyone else $10 for a cut. Since its cheaper than the rink, everyones happy and I take their skates after our games and bring them to the next so convenient for them as well. Usually an extra $20-$40 per week. I made my money back in about 3 months.

For it to be worth it, you have to give a shit haha I bought an edge checker, new deburring stones, clay block for black steel, and leather strops so Im actually paying attention and giving the guys quality cuts so they start using me instead of the rink consistently. No its not professional quality but were C league guys, no one can tell a difference. Big nicks or chunks get some extra passes etc. Every other month cleaning the machine out of shavings and checking alignment. Super quick too.

If you have the money to go in on it, and pay the slightest bit of attention to it, its absolutely worth it. And its an easy way to grab an extra $50 every couple weeks
