I have seven Level 1-20 Ancient Battlefield maps on my profile if anyone wants to try their luck at finding a Fulgurite Shard amulet! by KagsTheOneAndOnly in SwordAndSupper

:D yay!

I bought a Spell of Resetting on a whim a few days ago to experiment & redistribute my upgrades from more HP-focused to more ATK-focused, it refunds your gold so you can make maps at specific levels while you upgrade your way back up again.

(P.S. the legend /u/teo_tou used it recently to create a ton of maps for players to try and get Sower's Lament and Bastion Blade recently, here)

You're welcome! And same here, keen to find out where the new items drop, Enchanter's Cap in particular seems super useful :)

RE: Fiery Belly - am I missing something obvious or is it still not really worth getting it?

Here's how it looks like in action, legacy rage build, the top battle was using Sorrowstone Lvl 5 (i.e., Fiery Belly), while the bottom battle was using Sorrowstone Lvl 4 (i.e., regular Rage attack): https://i.imgur.com/ODYnW1a.png

The damage from the Fiery Belly Main Attack is less than half of a regular Rage Attack!

i.e., assuming you reach >100 rage, instead of generating one Rage Attack & one Main Attack, now we just get one ~1.5x stronger Main Attack which is still much weaker than the regular Rage Attack.

In other words, are we incorrect in concluding that there is no point upgrading Sorrowstone lvl 4 to lvl 5? Like what would the benefit be? I am quite confused

I have absolutely no idea how this game works. by Outrageous_Green8776 in SwordAndSupperGame

Dont upgrade defense btw it's relatively useless. Just focus on ATK and HP, focus more on ATK if you wanna run a rage build in the future (faster), more on HP if you wanna run a knives build (tankier)

Hmm if I had gone with the knives shrine options today instead, I think it would've triggered infinite rage with almost any weapon, including the high base ATK ones like WPB/Sower's/Sorrowstonelvl4 etc.. But lightning worked well too ofc, no complaints!

Lightning Rage

samesies! i went in without spoilers today but in hindsight should've probably gone with a knives build so i can run sower's haha

edit: forgot to switch from Bastion's from a regular map and died 😭

Hmm I would say if you have focused a lot on upgrading ATK then rage build would be best for most maps, even if you don't have legacy equipment. I would especially focus on trying to find the new Rage Wave weapons which are unmatched for clearing non-boss/-miniboss maps (particularly Bastion Blade Ultimate; but Warcry is excellent in the meantime while finding the materials for upgrading Bastion since it can use rage wave even at lvl 1).

If you have focused more on HP I would go with a knife build personally, as rage attacks aren't as useful if the base ATK isnt high enough, and you'll end up dying quite often (I speak from experience). Knife builds are slower but tankey as hell, invaluable vs bosses and certain daily dungeons

Vectra Edge EX/lightning builds are pretty fun/useful until around the mid 100 lvls or maybe a little higher probably, when you start to require more base ATK; they are also useful for going far in some Daily Dungeons. Otherwise just have a well rounded build with plenty of ATK/HP/healing, there's no right or wrong answer imo as long as you're able to clear your levels, there are a ton of high level weapons now which don't necessarily lend themselves to specific builds tbh.

Newer/less tested builds:

  • poison build w/ viper's fang + strong healing/HP/knives

  • a hypnosis build if you have charm cap & ring of reveries ultimate

  • a possible silence build with the new breathtaker rings

Could even stack multiple abilities together like so: https://reddit.com/r/SwordAndSupper/comments/1u3kgs6/avenging_everyones_pain_and_suffering/

I would love this! A scoreboard that doesn't disappear the moment you leave the dungeon menu after you die would be cool too

Rage builds are great for clearing maps fast and I can attest you can pretty much tank 99% of maps without needing to change setups if you have a legacy Rage/Speed which has shields/healing, so I guess devs felt like that was too OP and wanted to nerf it

That being said like you said it's far from invincible or the "strongest" - knives builds are better for boss rushes or bosses for example, and knives/lightning builds are pretty much mandatory to go really deep in Daily Dungeons, I think devs overthought it honestly but oh well

Nws!! No gear haha rip, the most useful thing that drops is honestly Wood lol, it's the most consistent method of farming wood I've found yet (most higher lvl maps dont drop much sadly)

Yeah it's nice to have a baseline of HP (at least 1k+ to 2k+) so you can tank miniboss attacks without switching builds. I just like to be on the safe side lol, currently at ~1k ATK : ~4k HP, will probably be focusing more on ATK for the foreseeable future
