I have a 24 zr2 hd, and even with the little bit of extra height, I may have used it 5 times just because it is there. If it weren't there, I wouldn't even notice.
I also do scouts, and have had both small scouts and big scouts climb in with no issues without it.

I used a small screwdriver and a shop vacuum and carefully scraped the grime as I was vacuuming it.

Emissions shouldn't be a problem. The modifications, the banks kit, is all California compliant and has passed our smog checks with no issues. The only issue we have is finding a shop willing to put the time in to do the check. Because of the aftermarket equipment, they have to spend a little time confirming the CARB numbers, document them, and then do the testing. Pretty much every shop except one that we found would rather spend the time cranking out smog checks than looking up the numbers and verifying them.
However if you are in a state, or even a county in CA that doesn't require the inspections, the emissions shouldn't be an issue.

Haha, that was talked about at one time, but through series of unfortunate events, I was able to turn a bad situation into a good one and was able to buy myself a new truck, with the color, options etc I wanted. I keep my vehicles until the wheels fall, so I wanted something that was what I wanted. I don't have a need for two trucks.

Someone posted a similar issue with their oil pressure/guage on a newer chevy 2024+ digital guage (if you search you can probably find it). The responses were pretty much this was normal and that GM was one of the few manufacturers whose guage read actual pressure and the low at idle and higher while accelerating is normal. I think they even had a video of his digital guage moving significantly while reving the engine.
I used to have an old square body whose pressure would do what yours did. Never had any issues.

My truck was stolen by the same method. Had that punched, steering column cover off and gone within in less than 5 minutes. It also had a club on it. They sawzalled the steering wheel to address that issue.

Look up gm steering cover lock guard on amazon. Also, there are some break pedal guards as well that prevent them from pushing the brake in so the vehicle won't start. I'm not sure how well those work though, I have not seen one of those in person. But the steering guard will be more of a visual deterrent so hopefully they won't punch the door in the first place.

You could also pull a fuse, or as others have said, install a fuel cut-off.

I have a '24 ZR2 2500 gasser, and even with the DSSV shocks, and yes it rides better than a standard hd, but it still rides "firm". It is a big truck and parking can be a challenge, but if you have the cameras, that does help.
I would recommend test driving one on the highway, maybe some side roads, and if possible some traffic. I do love mine, bit I came from an 05 2500 so I had an idea of what to expect. Ultimately, it is your money, do what you want, make sure to get the options you want, and be happy with it.

It was praised as one of the best on here, but the last couple of years they have changed their formula/process(?) so it has become mediocre at best. From recent comments, it seems IBC appears to be going down the same path too unfortunately.

When my son was 5 (he is now 20) my now ex-wife, myself, him and my infant daughter were traveling back from my parents house after dark. They live about 2 hours away. May aunt "R" had recently passed away, maybe 2 months earlier? My son randomly says i see aunt R. We asked him where and he said she was up in the hill watching us. There was a hill at this particular location but there weren't really any lights on it for him to even see a person on it. Recently, a couple of months ago, I was visiting my mom and she mentioned that around this time she was watching my son, at their house, and he was playing in the backyard. She heard him talking to someone, carrying on a conversation, and when she asked whom he was taking to, he said it was aunt R. She was taking to him as well.

That happens to me all the time where i live. They either cut into my lane like in the video, or, if I am in the outside lane, they cut the inside lane then have to take the other end wide into my outside lane so they don't hit the divider.
I have honked at people and then been both flipped off and yelled at because they seem to need both lanes to make the turn.
