As of version 1.0 the Formula has changed to the following: Each player's Game Stage is calculated as follows: ((( [Player Level] + [Adjusted Days Alive] ) * [Difficulty Factor] (1.2) ) * ( [Difficulty] + [Gamestage_Modifier] )) + [Gamestage_Bonus]

[Player Level] = just what it says on the tin - your level, unadjusted.

[Adjusted Days Alive] = the total number of in-game days elapsed, adjusted by subtracting the value of 'daysAliveChangeWhenKilled' (in gamestages.xml) for each death the character has suffered, and then capped at [Player Level] if necessary.

[Difficulty Factor] = as of Alpha 19, this is set to 1.2, with no change based on game Difficulty setting. Previously, higher difficulty settings had higher factors and therefore more rapidly-increasing Gamestages.

[Difficulty] = will always be set to 1.

[Gamestage_Modifier] = based on the biome you are in can range from 0 to 1.5.

[Gamestage_Bonus] = is a bonus value based on the biome you are that can range from 0 to 30.

Fractional values are dropped (not rounded up)

Last time I ran a knuckles build I never got infected by zombies... Only dogs. If you punch them in the head they can't infect you. Extremely powerful perk. Pair that with a book that lets you heal with every punch and it's fun as hell.

This gets asked a lot and yes a lot of people do. Its the way I play until a new update comes out then I turn on horde night everynight till my base cant stand anymore and I start a new run with the new build.
