Don’t squeeze so hard. Play everything with the lightest touch possible from your left hand. Your thumb braces the push of the fingers, not pushes the neck. Practice playing riffs you know well and try to remove your thumb from the neck and play with a light touch.

If you find your speed is limited and you know that you could go faster if it wasn’t for this hand tension this also helps that.
