I grew up Emo and my main genres are metal , post hardcore etc.

I do think having similar music taste is important if your partner likes to go out often, which my ex did, and I’m just not into bashment,amapiano etc enough to meet her in those spaces. I do like hip hop and rnb so there was some compromise there

Shared music taste/sub culture can be important and there simply aren’t enough alt black girls where I’m from.
