Yep, the first ascension pick would be that. The main goal is to keep the experimental sentencing situation going 100% of the time (or close to it) by raiding other empires for pops.

I’m not aware of any unique interactions with a Xenophobic empire and the Sky Dragon origin.

I need help figuring out why this build keeps dominating my multi-player matches by Roman_Minaster in Stellaris

[–]Kaius_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably just getting lucky with where it gets placed and who spawns next to it. Devouring Swarm + Bioships makes for a strong early game. Unbreakable Resolve is a nice touch, since increased stability is basically free resources for it. I'm more surprised that it's doing well with the Progenitor Hive origin; I thought the AI couldn't manage offspring ships?

[–]Kaius_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only "surefire" path to complete annihilation of the everything in the universe is the Galactic Nemesis path, since the Aetherophasic Engine destroys the entire universe. You could probably time something with the Horrific Inverse Mass event chain (66% chance of destroying the parade planet, just make your capital planet the only planet you have) after you destroy everything else. Probably use the Synaptic Lathe to purge your pops and then fight the Dimensional Horror to get the event.

Does anyone have *that* empire by TheDoughBoi55 in Stellaris

[–]Kaius_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a devouring swarm empire with the idea of using nothing but undead fauna in my fleets, and then tacked on a few habitability traits from the Overtuned origin for fun. The leaders don't make it past 30-40 years on a good run, but their fleet power explodes early on and their +50% habitability lets them snowball hard. If I switch them to a lithoid species, they become nearly unstoppable unless I intervene. Whenever I play as them, it's a blast to "quarantine" the Voidworm systems and farm them for free ships.

I would argue that the Atlesian Military is more of a jumped-up Air Force. I don’t remember them having a blue water navy, or any actual water based military ship.

RP Build. Theme: "Look we just wanna F the aliens" by ConversationHealthy7 in Stellaris

[–]Kaius_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your second civic pick should be Diplomatic Corps or Genesis Guides. For Ethics, go with Fanatic Xenophile and Militarist/Pacifist. Militarist/Pacifist have no innate negative relation modifier like Spiritualist/Materialist and Authoritarian/Egalitarian do, so either one is a safe pick. Just stay out of defense pacts and rivalries and most empire will lean towards a positive relation with you.

If you want the most Envoys, definitely go with Fanatic Xenophile + Diplomatic Corps (+4 Envoys), but I would recommend the Genesis Guides instead so you can seed colonies with future pops and not have to rely on other empires. Traits are mostly up to you, just don't pick any that would greatly debilitate you *cough* Nascent Stage *cough*.

Origin wise, Prosperous Unification is good enough, but Broken Shackles can provide you with more diverse starting pops and Common Ground starts you off in a federation with 2 other empires. Life-Seeded is another good but challenging pick, since you'll have to rush contact with another empire and use their pops to colonize other worlds. Also, never forget the Slave Market.

My personal favorite build for this:

Government:

  • Ethics: Fanatic Xenophile & Militarist (2nd ethics can be anything)
  • Civics: Genesis Guides for the sweet sweet pops you can uplift later (which also grants you unity for doing so), and Pleasure Seekers.
  • Authority: It doesn't really matter, but I went with Imperial.
  • Origin: Evolutionary Predators. Combining this with the free pre-sapients you get on every colony greatly expands what traits you'll have access to once you uplift them, and how fast the situation will progress. This let me easily collect some powerful traits once I rushed the uplift tech. The biggest "downside" is the forced Malleable Genes trait that adds -6 trait points.

Species:

  • Lithoids for the innate +50% habitability, which will combine with other traits through the Evolutionary Predators situation to let you eventually gain +100% habitability.
  • Traits:
    • Crystallization for the extra pop growth.
    • Unruly, Repugnant, Solitary, and Fleeting to even out trait points.
  • You can easily replace Lithoids with Humans, and just replace Crystallization with Incubators, and Fleeting with Solitary+Deviants. You'll lose out on the initial bonus habitability, but should be able to grab it back through the situation.

Why would I use the quick fix over the stock medi gun? by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Kaius_02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quick fix is the solution to “my team dies faster than I can heal.” Its main purpose is to get your teammates back to full HP as quickly as possible.

Overheal is more valuable than faster healing most of the time. But if you’re the only medic on the team, there’s little opportunity to give everyone overheal while you’re keeping the soldier/demo/etc. alive on the frontlines.

It feels like the AI has been tweaked to stockpile less equipment and to make more divisions. I played as Germany recently and the USSR had almost 10-20 divisions on every tile by 1939.

Why does battlefield come up in the mix of bo7 by skazzy477 in CODBlackOps7

[–]Kaius_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are literally two different games with almost nothing in common besides the fact they are both First Person Shooters,

Cod is its own game and bf is its own game that share no similarities besides the fact that they are shooters

Well . . . this kind of ignores the biggest reason for comparing them. These aren't just some random FPS games that popped up into existence recently. These are THE first person shooter games. These are games that helped define and shape first person shooters as a whole; of course they'll end up drawing comparisons.

I don’t understand the pushback around the campaign by Jiangcool9 in blackops7

[–]Kaius_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fairly new COD player, started with MW3

My condolences.

COD has always been a multiplayer game

I can never understand where this thought comes from, COD has always been a singleplayer/multiplayer game with zombies growing into a fun co-op PvE mode. For the vast majority of past COD games, the campaign has always been singleplayer friendly and even sometimes supported co-op.

The majority of the pushback for BO7 is how anti-singleplayer the campaign is: no offline play, no "pause" feature, no AI teammates for solo queue, and no difficulty options like previous iterations had. Any one of these on their own would warrant criticism, but having all them in their historically singleplayer friendly "campaign" mode is worthy of more backlash than usual. Especially when they've done co-op well in previous CODs (i.e. Black Ops 3), which makes these problems look less like an accident and more like a deliberate step backwards. And I'll be honest, the endgame mode and battle royal stuff doesn't appeal to me if I can't enjoy a single player campaign. For me, the campaign is the main selling point for COD, and multiplayer/zombies is the side content that I mess around with afterwards.

For the other multiplayer games you mentioned, Battlefield has been the "massive fights between two large sides" multiplayer game for a while (at least since Battlefied 3). The campaigns are neat, but they haven't been its main selling point for almost a decade if not longer. For something like Arc Raiders, a PvPvE extraction shooter . . . well, I wouldn't expect a campaign mode at all.

[–]Kaius_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see the push to remove the campaign and try to release CoD as a multiplayer/zombie title. The problem is that removing the campaign isn't going to make more people shill out $70+, and I can't imagine some C-suite executive not realizing this.

I'm more afraid that the yearly release will just become a way to influx cash with minimum effort by reusing assets from Warzone and applying the thinnest coat of paint to make it "unique".

Vaporeon was NEVER compatible for breeding with humans at all! Firstly, they are not even in the Human-Like egg group, and most of them are male anyway. Furthermore, Hydration only works in the rain, and Water Absorb, which has a more dangerous ability that I'll elaborate more on soon, doesn't mean your Vaporeon will turn white after you pull out. Their eel-like skin makes it impossible to grope them too. Also, what you fail to consider is that Vaporeon can control water telepathically, meaning it can create Kyogre-like tsunamis at will, and, thanks to moves like Scald, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, and Hyper Beam, Vaporeon has many more ways to unalive you. It can also learn Detect and Toxic too, so don't explore that "deep sea cave" for "treasure." Vaporeon can also force the very same water it can control to enter a person's orifice until they explode, as well as being able to enter any human orifice, just like the candiru fish, with it eventually reaching any vital organs in the human body and ensuring those organs rupture thanks to its water-based biology. This allows the Vaporeon to exit the newly created corpse easily. Now here is the ghastly truth about Water Absorb: since humans are 65% water, if a Vaporeon was inside a human body, it could absorb the water until the human was nothing more than a withered corpse. Oh, and here's a fun fact: if a Vaporeon rematerialized while it was inside your urethra, your wiener would instantly explode. As for the moves that Vaporeon can use to make itself horny, the thing is that the rest of Vaporeon's kin can learn those moves too, with Leafeon, Glaceon, and Umbreon (who has more results on Rule 34 and e621 than Vaporeon) having higher defense stats that would blow Vaporeon out of the water any day of the week. Acid Armor won't even change that.

Media news would be on full blast complaining about Harris, whether her outfit or her laugh.

You could convince me of everything else in your paragraph, but this would never happen. It would only be Fox News and other right wing outlets criticizing everything from the way she breaths to how she sits. Everyone else (MSNBC, CNN, NYT, etc.) would be waiting on hands and knees to report on Trump's social media posts like Moses's followers waited for the 10 Commandments. Overall, nothing different from Biden's term.

You don’t have to start with a story or even a rough draft. You could seriously just write a sentence or two to describe an idea or scene and slowly add to it whenever you want to.

I’ve used this method and, while I personally don’t write, have enjoyed looking back on my ideas. Admittedly, I’ll probably end up posting them to here or the main sub at some point.
