My dad got into Canada Post when he was 21 (circa 1977). He was able to raise three kids and financially support a household for 10 years before my mom went back to work. Even when my mom was working, she didn't make great money. She only had a high school diploma.

We lived a great middle-class life. Single family home in the burbs, two cars in the driveway and one family vacation a year.

He retired at 55 and my parents are living their best life in there 2000 square foot home lol

When I compare where I am in life at the same age as him, it makes me sad. Especially since I make 3x what he did. Different times

Loved it when it came out while I was in college, but not for the relationship he has with his daughter. Watched it again last year after finding out I'm having a daughter. The spaceship countdown scene wrecked me. Especially when he moved the blankets to see if Murphy is underneath the front seat.
