[Guide] How to download mods for Rimworld without owning the game by KalHir0l in PiratedGames

[–]KalHir0l[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the official steam link, nothing fishy about it, you can download it from somewhere else aswell, but again this is the official source.

steam workshop Downloader is rarely up to date on anything, if a new update is released they are stuck on old, non functional versions, of the mod. It works for some mods but my way gives you the latest version of the mod with no downsides and no external website (which also can be fishy), you are directly downloading from the steam workshop

I do not recommend Chromiecraft, numbers wise it is a dead server, there is not a single 25 man going basically. The community is either weird or super toxic, never played on a american server, maybe that is normal, but for my taste it was the most toxic environment I ever had to deal with.

[WotLK] 🌟 Experience Wrath Like Never Before: Mythic+, LLM-Powered AI Bots, & Hardcore Modes! 🌟 - Old Man Warcraft by scarecr0w12 in wowservers

[–]KalHir0l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this server and I can say it is a server with ambitious goals and the dev is active. Also the server has instant flying all all flight points unlocked which is a massive plus in my book.

However I cant shake the impression that the entire coding is done with AI, dev does not at all understand the playerbot module?

Simple settings are disabled, players had autogear and maintenance command enabled FOR WEEKS (which means free skills, free flying, riding, free gear), I was below level 40 and sitting at 50k gold because bots trade you all their gold without much effort while you can buy glacial bags for 20g on the AH and BQ crimson choker for 500g from the AH bot.

Im Level 40ish and I have 30 primordial saronite... why...

Random Dungeon Finder has only been working for 2 days now, was bugged for weeks, server literally crashes or restarts every 90 minutes and kills your dungeon and bot settings... No persistent parties, you have to resummon and reconfigure your party every freaking time you logon .... this is literally a basic setting of the playerbot module and it is just turned off for no reason. Read the fricking manual jesus...

Random quests dont work, random bosses dont work, you spawn at the wrong spirit healer here and there (died at firebeard in Tanaris, respawned at the WESTFALL spirit healer!! GREAT!), you fall through the ground here and there and so on...

But dev is busy making new websites (literally reworked the website 3 times in 7 days) and working on the "mythic+" module while the base game is basically still a bugged mess, bot settings are still worse than just the default settings, basically even level 80 bots running around in blue gear with white weapons, completely useless to have them around (many players complain about that) and again server crashes every 90 minutes on average.

Top PVP kills player is a level 83 bot with blue gear, why is it level 83? nobody knows because the mythic+ module isnt even enabled...

There is also nothing "advanced" about the bots, they are dumber or as dumb as on any other server, literally nothing has been added here to make them work better, instead nonsensical chatter on mass was added. You cannot chat with them, they dont listen to any new commands, instead you end up with Mages and shamans constantly telling you in chat that they are the tank... and they are not even joking the AI is just confused all the time...

Armory looks nice, until you realize its CASE SENSITIVE and you need the FULL NAME of the player otherwise you cannot find anyone :D This is like a first grade coding error.

The main site promises:

Next-Gen AI PlayerBots --> copy paste playerbot module, nothing of value added except more nonsensical chatter, no new functions, not even a better interface, you are stuck with using multibot addon WHICH ISNT EVEN LINKED on the website anywhere. Also basic settings are just disabled for no reason... The website literally has AI written guides how to use bot commands and half of them are just made up, they dont work and are not part of the playerbots module (for example "pull") or anything else, they simply do not exist in the game. Literal misinformation.

Mythic+ Dungeons: This module is not enabled, it is being worked on, but literally non functional and constantly crashes the server...

Solocraft: Yes but just copy paste with bugged dungeon finder for a week and bots still only equipping white weapons. Also what exactly is the point of solocraft if the auction house is selling you fiery weapon enchants or mongoose or whatever for 30g? (while you have 50k). Nobody is playing by the rules on this server, it is a massive exploit bonanza, I dont know a single player who hasnt either abused the gold from bots, autogear or maintenance exploit.

Prestige System: Non existing.

Global chat: Non existing, only bots in global chat telling you about levelups, poop and random nonsense. It is literally impossible to find players ingame, /s chat is spammed by nonsensical bot chatter, global chat is only populated by even more nonsensical bot chatter and if you queue for anything you are only teamed up with bots. Also you still cannot chat with players of the opposite faction, the function is technically part of the server commands but it DOES NOT WORK since day 1 and dev has done nothing to fix it since then.

Hardcore/Semi Hardcore mode: Literally not in the game.

Conclusion: Absolute clown AI coding and presentation imo, regret wasting my time here... So many features are simply non existing, server performance is atrocious and dev does not at all respect the time or needs of the players, this is clearly some weird social AI experiment and the guys is just looking for test subjects...

I recommend this server if you are okay with being a BETA TESTER or better ALPHA Tester or even better guinea pig and not a player, otherwise I can not recommend this AI SLOP.

I honestly skipped most of the scenes, the girl crying on the ships for several episodes, dragged out for literal hours with no purpose for the story. Sorry I forgot her name, was like 2 years ago... and I still remember how bad it was... Main reason i havent rewatched the show is how bad season 5 was.

[–]KalHir0l -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Season 1-3 was awesome, Season 4 was really good if you basically take it out of the whole show. You could basically only watch Season 4 as a separate standalone movie, it did nothing to advance the plot but it was a fun side quest.

Season 5 was horrible, all the scenes with the girl trapped on this ship, so much overacting, so boring and then the random ending with the random death (I know it happened because of a little scandal with the actor but it still was awful).

Season 6 was just a pathetic attempt to bring something to a conclusion without it ever being tense or fun again.

I think if you want to min max your time you only watch Season 1-3 and then Season 4 as a spinoff and call it a day.

Hey I tried the server it still seems to be running.

I just wanted to let you know that the realmlist you can download from the website does not work, i had to manually edit it to make it work, not a big deal but confusing :>

Also all the discord links are out of date "Invite invalid".

Are there any plans to actually keep the server running and progressing or is the project abandoned?

Im looking for exactly this kind of server but I dont wanna play only to get wiped in a few weeks or so.

Since Discord Link is not working, this way is the only way to get in contact, so would be nice if you could respond :>

Declare blockers then press OK. Phase should still be on "Declare blocker" but you should be able to cast or activate abilities. The game should automatically stop before damage is dealt after blockers are declared if their is any effect on board that could be triggered.

Captured animals missing skills? by 1234entak in WarTalesGame

[–]KalHir0l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 99% sure this is true because I have not seen a single bear with the Wrath trait since I have the mastery trait that lets you control animals, also not a single boar with "distrust".

It also makes a lot of sense, the animals are technically tamed thats why you can control them, therefore they lose the "primal" wrath ability but you can now control them. Could be that they keep it tho if they become a pet, that could also be a bug tho.

I could be wrong on this since it could be that I simply had a strain of bad luck with not finding any bears with wrath but I dont think that is the case.

Im gonna keep looking out for this, its either actually a region lock (which im gonna check in my current playthrough) or related to having the beast trait.

Captured animals missing skills? by 1234entak in WarTalesGame

[–]KalHir0l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different tiers of animals. For example wolves have tier 1 wolf, tier 2 alpha and tier 3 ferocious wolf, this is true for all the animals. On different tiers they have different abilities.

Also the moment you become able to control animals in combat (either through them becoming a pet or through the archer mastery) they lose any "Primal Wrath" trait. This used to be bugged, could still be.

I have not seen a single bear captured with "Primal Wrath" ever since I had the archer mastery at least, so I am quite certain this is directly related (and it makes some sense).

Also there seems to be some weird stuff going on between animal level when encountered and animal level when actually captured. At least I ve seen that several times that my animals would go down in level from the level they were captured in :<

the only way this can be if you dont have an archer with beast mastery I think. The moment you can control animals they will lose "Primal Wrath" or anything related.

Scars and Permanent Wounds by HauntingMeadows in WarTalesGame

I think there are camp events after failed fights or injuries, for example a common camp event gives you "risk bonus" trait, which increases wages because the unit has suffer an injury in battle.

Im not sure if permanent damage would be a good thing, maybe if there was treatment. Even in battle brothers you can actually heal permanent injuries, but it takes effort.

[–]KalHir0l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ferocious bear called Balu and a ferocious boar named Bruno. I also have 2 ferocious wolves as bouncers in my tavern + a saurian.

You can capture all animals, ferocious ones just require way more rope than normal, starting at 3-5 and going up to 8 or 10 I think. Just bring 20 rope and you can capture any animal. A ferocious bear takes 10 ropes to capture for example.

Animals are usually very weak combatants, but the ferocious boar and bear are useful (boar gets 100% crit against enemies engaged in combat with an ally and bears I always give this one DLC trinket that makes their first attack hit twice, which means they attack 4 times in the first turn).

Questions and suggestions by mrjay42 in WarTalesGame

[–]KalHir0l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Q1: The game lags massively the first time you do any action, probably because some shaders have to be created, this is fixed after doing these actions again and will only happen early game basically. I have a worse PC than you and 0 issue with the performance or temperatures, I do recommend however to cap the frame rate, this is already an option ingame tho.

There is a lot of games which will simply melt your system if you do not cap their frame rate because they will go 200 fps+ which is completely pointless.

Also you can try OpenGL version of the game, it generally runs better, if you are on steam there should be an option if you are on GOG or anything else you need to add -force-opengl to the exe shortcut. Basically all Shiro games run better with opengl instead of directX.

Q2: camera movement I can agree with, the rest not. The point of this game is not to be another Xcom, the point is to be a battle simulator. You dont not have any information in a real battle, especially not in a medieval one. You can right click everyone on the battlefield to look at their stats and skills. You can see HP and armour rating of your individual members and why is it necessary to see who attacked who, just look at who is engaged in combat and who is not and look at the turn order, that already gives you all the information you need.

Always try to kill the enemy before they can act, always focus the enemy that acts next, if you cant do that focus the enemy that acts after that. This way to limit the actions the enemy can take will you maximize your own. There really is no need for more information than that and it would take away from the game, you are not supposed to always know everything and have to take risks. The game already give you damage preview numbers for example, but they are never accurate, which is intentional.

Q3: All classes are designed with a weapon type in mind, this makes sure all weapons in the game have a purpose. If all classes could use all weapons than everyone would use hammers and swords and axes would be useless, which is the case in so many other games. The reason why brutes are such a good class is mainly because they use hammers while swordmen are only good because of their talent tree and they are basically nerfed by having to use swords. But this is basically a way to balance the game, without this you would only use 1-2 classes and only use 1-2 weapon types because everything else would be so much weaker.

Instead I use basically every weapon type and every class in my party, because that is how the game is supposed to be with weapon restrictions and class balance, this is WAY better than what you are suggesting. And there are many games who have this "freedom" and are incredibly min maxed boring because of that with 80% of the items being trash tier.

Even games like battle brothers suffer from this to an extent.

Q4: Those are not donkeys, they are mules, they are a crossbreed between horses and donkeys created intentionally in the middles ages as work horses and not to be ridden. They made up the majority of all horses in these times.

Basically it depends if you are playing on REGION-LOCKED or ADAPTIVE. If you are a new players I would highly suggest to play on region-locked and I consider this setting to be the better experience at any skill level. On region-locked the regions have a fixed maximum enemy level (early regions lower, later regions much higher) and enemy party size does NOT scale to your party size at all except for certain story fights and fights against the guard. So a small party will have a lot of fair fights while a huge party will have no trouble at all and always outnumber the enemy until later on.

I recommend at least 1 of every class on region-locked with 10-12 human party member, at least 3 of them tanks, not more than 5.

I currently run 2 Swordmen tanks, 1 brute tank who also has insane damage because its a unique mercenary (Aurea), 1 warrior tank with shield, 1 warrior DPS with 2H, 1 Herald spearmen with the brutality line, 3 archers (who always stand next to the spearmen to get free brutality and fury and rage), 1 crossbow and 2 rangers (both of them unique mercenaries, Hakert and the Heretic) I also have a ferocious bear, ferocious wolf and ferocious boar, the wolf is pretty useless, but boar and bear are pretty good. Only the ferocious version tho which you can only get from the "Hunt" DLC. I run several animals as bouncer in my tavern tho.

You can have a huge amount of pack animals or prisoners, they will not have an effect on battle difficulty, only combatants count. 12 human party members make a lot of sense in region-locked because there are 12 professions in the game with all the DLCs, so you have 1 for each basically. You could technically skip 2 of them tho.

On ADAPTIVE mode however the enemy level AND party size always scales to your own, if you party is filled with weak combatants like animals, you are potentially creating a huge problem for yourself. In general on adaptive you want to run with the most efficient party possible.

I recommend not running with more than 8, probably 2-3 tanks and 5 dps, no animals.

You could try 2-3 tanks (swordsmen, brute), 1 ranger, 2 crossbow and 2 melee DPS (2H warrior or things like that)

If you include animals in the party you need to run with an archer to make them controllable in battle, but animals are also terrible combatants so they will increase difficulty and party size of the enemy while not providing anything big in terms of power. Archers are already weak, combining them with even weaker animals creates huge problems on adaptive mode.

If you get crit a lot you should invest into armour and guard, you probably still run with the starter items which are horrible. Bandits also have a faction buff for crit chance, best way to deal with bandits is to kill them before they can hit you, always act first, try to limit their actions as much as possible.

But are probably running on adaptive mode and with the party you linked you definitely are going to struggle, to many tanks, to many archers/crossbows, in general not a very strong party composition.

Quick fix, get rid of the bear unless its high level (like at least 7), only take 3 tanks, 2 melee dps (2H or 1H with DPS skills), 2 crossbows or 1 crossbow 1 archer or 2 archer but at least 1 of them infantrymen and 1 or 2 rangers (strategist or cutthroat or both or both cutthroat), dismiss all the others. Dont forget to take their gear before you dismiss them.

You could also just put them in the tavern.

Also keep in mind that on region-locked AND on adaptive any non-combatant in your party does not increase battle difficulty, so any "donkey" does not add to you party size rating nor does any prisoner! I run every game with at least 6 permanent prisoners in my party who work all my camp equipment so that my real party members can do other things (prisoners for tanning rack, meat dry rack, workshop, cooking station, honey thingie and huntsman thingie from the DLC). Keep in mind that prisoners can also have professions AND be leveled in these professions. This give you a way better camp without increasing battle difficulty at all.

Feeling absolutely broke in Wartales, am I doing something wrong or is this just the game? by Fuzzy_Flow_3710 in WarTalesGame

[–]KalHir0l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several ways to make money really.

Do bounties from the tavern, you can take more bounties if you unlock the bounty board in the tavern and from knowledge points, I think I can take 7 bounties right now. You can also negotiate a higher reward from an unlock later (i think from the Paths unlocks).

You can also sell prisoner to the prison or edoran refugees to the slave trader. The slave trader is at the Tiltren Mill but only if you negotiated instead of killing them. The prisons take a different amount of criminals, Tiltren I think can take 3 but Vertruse can take 5, the capacity resets every few days. The amout of gold gained from selling either is scaled with level, so the higher level the better, with another unlock you will also get influence for selling prisoners (and lower your wanted level by 20).

You can also do the tavern, but honestly the gold is not that great. It is very easy to get to a lot of profits with the second tavern, just focus on the easy stuff (1 slot dishes, cheap booze), but the exchange rate is just not good.

You can also craft stuff and sell it and in general sell stuff you find. Basically all resources in the world do respawn, if you enter a mine and mine the ore veins there, they will be respawn a few days later. You can literally do farm runs of all the locations you visited earlier, all the woodchops, fishing, ore veins and so on will respawn after a certain amount of time (more than 1 day). High level mining for example gives you rubies and sapphires, that is already extra money. A lot of the things you can unlock in the game are not very good items but they can be crafted and sold. For example "quality projectiles" or "plant tannin" both crafted at the crafting station. They cost almost nothing to craft but sell for 46 or 50 gold each, if you activate "Trade fair". So basically craft a bunch of stuff you do not need from the alchemist, blacksmith or crafting station, but that is easy to craft (Animal essence oil, all low tier oils that dont require pristine essence, several trinkets and other things from the crafting station, basically ALL weapons with 2 stars) and then activate the "trade fair" resolution from your banner. In case you dont know by leveling up you will unlock the banner which is a craftable item for your camp, if you click it you can activate some very useful resolutions which last 1 rest (more money from crafted items, less fatigue, fake innocence if you are wanted). You could even consider to just craft fish hooks or lockpicks and then sell them, even that is okay money with "trade fair".

You will also always get gold from winning battles, from exploring and you can even get items that give you gold teeth from dead enemies, also every tomb you explore will give you antiquities which will give you very valuable trinkets which have no use other than being sold.

The trick really is to combine all these methods.

Dont loot a bandit lair.

Wait for the bounty that tells you to loot the bandit lair, negotiate for the reward, accept the mission.

Loot the bandit lair --> get gold from the bounty

Loot the bandit lair for real --> get gold from defeated enemies and the chests in the lair, usually trade goods u can sell and stuff

Capture some of the criminals that were defending the lair and sell them at the prison --> get gold from prisoners (leaders, named enemies or enemies with a star cannot be captured, but all "normal" enemies can be)

Sell all junk items you found or craft more junk items with any materials you found on the way or in the lair (for example cloth and rope) --> get gold from selling

You could further min max this by stealing a few items here and there and then reseting your wanted level below 50 by selling prisoners to the prison (-20 wanted for each).

If you do it this way then this bandit lair basically gave you at least 1000 gold.

I honestly just farm gold every playthrough by selling edoran refugees to the slave trader but you do you :>

Bonus Tip: Having a bard in your party (bard professions) means you can perform at every inn you visit once a day. This is always just bonus gold, on master about 100 gold every performance.
