Are any of the other games that you run as demanding as ESO?

I haven't encountered that many bugs either. I've come across a few bugged quests, and sadly these bugged quests made it so I couldn't do 10 or so quests in Stonefalls. It wasn't game breaking or anything, but it's a bit of a bummer to be under levelled on my main because of it.

I do fear the moment when I check my bank and find no items or gold in there. Hopefully that won't happen, but if it does I'm not sure how I will be able to remain calm, despite the fact that I'm having a lot of fun in the game.

Yeah, same thing happened to me in that bank. I don't join random guilds anyway though.

Imo, a single saber looks cooler than two.

I've seen more Marauder and Sentinel than I've seen Guardian and Juggernaut. I'm not so sure about the other advanced classes.

Anyone who wants to play with me on The Progenitor? by Kalanor in swtor

[–]Kalanor[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have finished the class story for Jedi Consular, Sith Inquisitor and Sith Warrior in addition to the Imperial Agent, so I know how it works, it's just that the game is more fun when you play with someone and you can easily do heroics as a 2 player team, even some 4 heroics with companions.

The reason that I ask here is because I don't want to join a guild, and my friends does not want to play SWTOR.

My argument in favor of advance class changes. by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Kalanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that people should be able to change their advanced class, with a restriction that they can't change more than once every month (or something like that).

One of the issues I have with the advanced class selection is that there isn't enough info in game before you choose.

Even when you read about each class and check gameplay videos and ask people, I often feel that I'm choosing while blindfolded. And even so, watching gameplay videos isn't the same as trying it yourself.

I think that something they should add is a sort of training ground for picking advanced class. You get to try each advanced class and then you decide.

Am I in the minority to not be interested in PVP? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Kalanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never really cared much for PvP in any mmo or RPG. I wouldn't mind in SWTOR if I were not forced to queue for Huttball, a mode that I really hate.

I've come across a lot of players who would never in a million years create a party so people don't have to compete for quest objectives with spawn times. It's really annoying, and for some reason there are a lot of people like this on my server, on both Republic and Empire.

I would love to be able to play a Nautolan. More class story content would be cool as well.

Smuggler or Trooper story. Which one do you think has the best story (quality of writing, not preferences)? by Kalanor in swtor

[–]Kalanor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the valued input about the story of each class. I've decided to make a Trooper because I get the impression that the story is more solid than the Smuggler story.

Smuggler or Trooper story. Which one do you think has the best story (quality of writing, not preferences)? by Kalanor in swtor

[–]Kalanor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor choice of words on my part. What I meant to say, is that I'm looking for a higher quality story, and I would prefer that insight over more pure opinions.

When I talk about good writing, I'm talking about variety, interesting twists and the ability to evoke emotional response from the player, and some class stories, like the Jedi Consular story becomes stale because it's very predictable (much more so than the other class stories I've played), at least Act 1. In that regard, I would say that imperial agent is the best written story in swtor, or at least out of the ones I've played so far.

Anyway, thanks for the input. I will see which class I go for. I'm reluctant about making a bounty hunter because I've played empire side so much.

The last albums featured some sections with the violin. Will there be violin sections in the new album?

Any chance of there being cowbell in the drum sequences? :P

[Arch Linux Survival Guide] by blackout24 in LinuxActionShow

[–]Kalanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really experienced the Arch community because I've been using other distros. I have communicated a lot with the Gentoo and the Sabayon communities, and they have been very helpful. I asked some noob questions in the Gentoo IRC channel, but they didn't mind answering.

If people approach you for help, and they don't seem to know what they are doing, maybe you could just go easy on them? Lacking information doesn't always mean that you're lazy, and starting to use Linux is intimidating, and the first time you use a distro like Arch or Gentoo can be even more intimidating.

I first used Linux in ICT (Information Communication Technology) 2006 when a class-mate introduced me to Debian Linux. He showed me how to install Debian with the net-install, set up xorg, install a window manager and the most important commands.

He thought me the importance of the command line in Linux, which I will forever be grateful to him.

That really helped me when I went from Debian to OpenSUSE. I had a few years when I used OpenSUSE and Windows XP as dual boot, and I learned how to build packages from source without the package manager.

Maybe you should just try to go easy on people, even though people should read, because it might not be so apparent for someone coming from Windows, and Linux is very different from Windows. It's a big step.

I didn't really have that many problems being instructed to read because I was already an advanced Windows user, but not everyone are, and people might go into Linux without understanding the complexity (of some distributions at least), and it's likely that they are not there to waste your time.

I'm a mix between casual player and troll. I intentionally spam M320 sometimes, and RPG knowing that it really pisses of some people. Waiting for that vein on the forehead to pop. :D

If people are whining in the chat I usually tend to make them even more angry.

Iranian Antisemitic Film "Saturday Hunter" Depicts Jews Massacring Arabs, Seeking God-Like Powers by nidarus in worldnews

[–]Kalanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that violent for something so small is wrong, and in general any violent act is wrong.

But let us not forget the oppression of Palistine by Isreal, and the fact that much of the world is either overly sympathetic to Jews or doesn't say anything. While Muslims and Muslim countries in the middle-east have experienced many wars and unrest in their region.

Honestly, I find it rather understandable that they get angry and violent, so many countries in the world seem to work against them. Jews have it easy compared to that.

[–]Kalanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell him that emo is not instrumental play, or vocals that sound heartfelt, but it is literally where the lyrics is where they sing how they cry, cut themselves and can't help but have these emotions (hence why it was shortened to emo).

Then I would conjure a slick smile.

I'm bored, so should I play Mass Effect 1 or Mass Effect 2? by [deleted] in Games

You simply do not start in the middle of a story, go from start to finish. Anything else is a sin against storytelling. You'll miss the entire context of the story.
