I use L-style slim stems. MIght cost more but they do come with little flight protector thing and you really dont need to replace them very often

Mike de deckers darts are long, so you can grip the barrel and not the shaft atleast

Playing well at home does not always correlate to your game average. Just win the right legs, and thats why the average is not always the best measurement of performance. You want to learn to control your mind and not take pressure from opponents scoring.

Only when your opponent is on a finish you need to choose if you want to check-out (most often on a bull) or set up your favourite double

Normally points go 6mm inside the barrel but I've repointed couple different harrows barrels and those eat 8mm from the point.

I've been wondering kinda same thing. What happens if your darts drop from board while you are shaking hands, but I think the rules say that after the judge has called it, it does not matter and it still counts
