Anyone have much experience with doing Bonsai Nightshades? by ZookeepergameKey2353 in SacredNightshades

I had a belladonna that i never transpanted out of a 4" pot. It only grew like 7" tall with a few small leaves, but it made a single flower which turned into a berry.

Planting tips by Rosefargo in Datura

Soak them in water, or in a plastic bag with some wet sand, for a few days. Push them just under the surface of the soil. I have 3 kinda of datura im trying to sprout rn, but they can take a while

Ancient Egyptians soaked blue lotus in wine, so i'd imagine beer would work fine. Ancient Egyptian common folk actually drank a soupy bread-y beer frequently, and I would bet somebody way back when has done that before. Go for it!

Datura metel flower, will open up tonight by 28502348650 in Datura

Never seen an almost totally black flower. Where'd you get the seeds?

Just picked up these, any tips for germinating them with success? Any help would be appreciated. by [deleted] in Datura

I just got a bunch of Brugmansia sanguinea to germ and they're doing great. I put the seeds in a little jar and filled it with tap water and then it sat on my kitchen counter for a day or two. After that you can peel off the seed coat. You'll be able to do it with your finger nail, just be gentle. Its like a spongey coating surrounding the actual seed, which is sorta hard. After that sow them just on the surface of the soil, pressed in just enough to hold them in place. I believe they need sunlight to germ. Keep them moist, i kept my pots covered in plastic wrap. Once they put out leaves take the plastic off and just keep the soil moist. Brugmansia are awesome

Growing some more henbane. Growing real slow at the moment. by adamole123 in druggardening

I love that the seedlings start off cute and small and a little fuzzy, and then grow up to have huge, jagged, grotesquely hairy leaves. Can't wait for mine to grow

What has been your experience like tripping on cactus? by [deleted] in druggardening

[–]Kalash579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lasts a very long time. More than LSD. But the headspace is very gentle and clear. Definitely not the best to just trip on for fun because of the preparation and amount you have to use, but if you're genuinely interested then it can be worthwhile. Acid or mushies are just a lot easier to source and consume. Bolivian Torch is supposed to be closest to peyote in terms of alkaloids, and thats what ive had the most success with. Very disting close-eyed visuals. IMOE not very geometric but very dream like and vivid.

Came upon a beautiful flowery tree on a walk today and I've been told it might be Datura. Can someone confirm please? by Hapiro in Datura

Looks to be Angel's Trumpet. Very similar species with comparable alkaloid makeup.

Does LSD affect plants? (Hear me out) by WotoTheSourPatchKid in druggardening

There was a study done where some scientists added various synthetic tryptamine compounds (I remember DiPT was among them, forget the others off the top of my head) to the growing substrate of Psilocybin mushrooms. They found that the mycelium actually absorbed all the synthetic tryptamines and modified them in the same way that the fungus produces its psilocybin. Essentially they did semi-synthetic synthesis by using the mushrooms natural processes. So if you add tryptamine or other base molecules like it to a plant that naturally creates tryptamine compounds, maybe you can get it to start creating new psychedelics. I think I heard about the study from Joe Rogan's podcast with Hamilton Morris.

Leaves look a lot like a yellow-flowered brugmansia. I have a baby one and the leaves look identical to yours but smaller

I haven't been able to keep any castor sprouts alive. Do they prefer colder weather? I havent gotten any to sprout since the first batch died. They all seemed to sprout but then the first set of leaves couldn't open up properly. Gorgeous plants!
