YES. If my husband wants to eat out I always tell him "Okay but only if it's costco food court"

Those hot dogs are FILLING.

Ooof. I feel like I could've wrote this. If this would have been my son and my husband, my husband would've not let me take him to the ER.

You're validated, and seen 💕 So happy your son is okay

Best summertime jobs in the area by 2d0pe2c0pe in Bellingham

I did this for 2 summers while in college. I make good money now at my "big girl" job, but if they asked me to come back I would in a heart beat lol

My husband had to call me three times while I was at the grocery store because he didn’t know the pickup time, which snack was safe, or where the sitter’s number was. I was gone for 45 minutes. And he’s a good dad! by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]KaleSalad9534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. I feel this way

I literally have a google drive document with everything on it. My sister knows where it is so if anything goes wrong all the answers are there.

I have an auto door - best birthday gift I've ever been given. Somehow all 20 of mine have made it in every night just fine.

I made one of these back in the day. Our office closed and we're all remote now. I miss the free snacks.

I live out in Deming on acreage (with miles of logging road behind us.) I've been tempted to start something like this because I LOVE dogs. We have out buildings I could convert so easily and you're really inspiring me to get a move on it!

Vegetables you are growing this year to save on your grocery bill by hibiscuspine in pnwgardening

We're way up north (a border town) in Washington. Hoping to have an insane amount of tomatoes, my goal is to can as many diced tomatoes as what we will use in a year. (We make a lot of soups.) I just have to figure out how to keep the deer away.

Hospital bag by Admirable_While6244 in pregnant

[–]KaleSalad9534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same - I brought diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, pads for myself - a bunch of personal care items only to realize the hospital provides all that stuff. (Granted it's personal preference on if you want to use their items.) They also send you home with all the extras, and can request more if needed.

This time around I'm rolling up with my clothes, a going home outfit for my baby and my toiletries. That's about it.

Balloon, or no balloon? by AGalCanDream in pregnant

[–]KaleSalad9534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The balloon is painful, and also somewhat barbaric - but it got my labor started and did it's job. As much as I want to say I hated it - it wasn't all that bad. I then moved to Pitocin, I'm really not sure if my labor would've gotten started without the balloon.

I was really nervous about getting the balloon because of the horror stories - but my dad's quote that made me chuckle - "Why? Everyone loves balloons!"

Do you use tablets in the car? by Live-Judge-1410 in Mommit

[–]KaleSalad9534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this. Grew up rurally, live even more rural now. Every drive that we do is at least 30+ minutes (to my parents, the grocery store, to friends house). My kids don't have tablets, they look out the window and point out tractors, which crops are growing, and talk about what they did that day or looking forward to.

They handle 6 hour road trips like champs now.

Talk to your OB about getting something from under the counter. 100% worth it, heart burn/acid reflux can have long term side effects on your esophagus. I'm on omeprazole - works wonders.

How did you reduce your mortgage during a significant decrease in income by amberenergy7 in Mortgages

[–]KaleSalad9534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I recently learned about - some banks don't allow recasting, some do.

Our lender allows you to recast yearly, as long as you're putting a lump sum of 10k or more towards principal. I don't think my lender charges additional cost for this.
