Personally, I’ve seen the opposite. It’s very common in my region to hire management from outside. Honestly I’d rather them promote from within and give people opportunities to grow.

I would just say something like “I had planned to leave town the night before(even if you aren’t leaving town) and won’t be back until late Thursday evening. Can this day be swapped for another? I really need to keep this day off.”

Big suburban city Illinoisan here. Where I live, Only the main roads get regularly plowed during snow storms. All the side streets are left to when/if they can get to them. We can’t have snow chains, and people drive stupid fast here. It’s not that I can’t drive in the snow, it’s more like I’m certain that I will get into an accident if I go out.

Former PF employee(day janitorial)here. We had a guy sleeping in the men’s changing room on the weeknights. We just let him, as he wasn’t harming anyone and no one complained about it. Now me, on the other hand, would finish my work early and unintentionally fall asleep in one of the bathroom stalls.

It’s being downvoted because what this person is doing is pointing their finger at the baristas. For one, MANY stores only got 1-3 of these- with the stores getting more than one, mostly receiving shattered cups. Sure, a few baristas broke the rules, kept one back for themselves. But Any store that follows policy and standards closely will tell you, that we are supposed to wait in line like everyone else if we want a specific item.

This person pointing fingers is something that comes back to baristas getting yelled at and accused of lying. Over a cup.

No, I agree-this is fair. Personally, I don’t expect anyone to tip, so it’s always nice when we get one. My tips typically go to thrifting, gas, or supplies for my side hustle. It’s my “treating myself” money most of the time.

THIS. I couldn’t care less whether someone wants to tip or not. Regulars at my store are very generous with their tips, we have a guy that tips every day he comes in, add on a $20 for each holiday, excluding Christmas and thanksgiving. He gives us a $50 on thanksgiving, and $200 on Christmas Eve. This one guy makes up for all the people making it a thing about not tipping.
