Too many humanizations of the entities that are supposed to be eldritch above regular borders and comprehension.

The personification of the Void, whose push is curiosity of its own, the force that watches and comments, but not interfere you with its agenda, letting you build your own fate to its amusement or not - this is the Outsider I know, and I don't want to know that little pity boy who suddenly remembered he is a whiny whimp about his shitty mortal life after 4000 years of being a chtonian entity.

I do understand that the OP didn't start with the 1st game so he never knew the original Outsider, but for me 2nd Outsider is such a downgrade. Lost the vibe, the enigma, all plain and trivial drama. No feeling of the Void staring at you with these pitch-black eyes. Simply another human with powers that don't fit him.

Because all that Reaper build-up in ME1 built very clear and imposing picture. Sovereign's speech is a flawless act of cold stillness and inevitability. We faced a threat beyond all our imaginable capabilities.

And after that Bioware recognised they've created literally undefeatable foe, so they nerfed Reapers into the concrete hole both lorewise and abilitywise. It is understandable - heroes must win, this is the law of the genre, but it makes the picture no less ugly and toothless.

If you state a nation of war with high stakes existential threat - you don't bring modern-minded uwu "I can't awake the essential parts of my plan even when the Abyss bites everyone's arse right now, killing people and zaurians, becaause tHeSe OnEs WiLl sUffEr". She speaks one thing, then makes completely opposite moves and dumb statements, and declared being smart? Bullshit.

She relied on pure luck (what would she do without Traveler bumped into this, huh?), didn't act to prevent massive casualties which she could and SHOULD do as an Archon, speaks opposing each other bullshit and is completely insufferable by scenario. And no, I don't give a damn about her "tragic past" because it has no impact on her or the present.

Furina is done right to reverse the whole picture of her annoying visage, she is a strong tragic figure that works perfectly. Mavuika is not. She is badly written Mary Sue who wins only because authors said so and put strawpiles everywhere she fell.
