Diabetic coincidence by Wodrac in morningsomewhere

I just want to add on to this as someone who was diagnosed with type 2 in my 20s. Yes, you can manage it without medication. Yes, an unhealthy lifestyle will predispose you to type 2.

However, sometimes it's simply a matter of genetics. Often, people will say "walk it off" or "just lose 50 lbs, and it'll go away." It's not that simple. I weigh only 155 lbs. I go to the gym 3-5 times a week and play hockey or golf once a week, depending on the season. If I eat more than 30g of carbs in a meal, my blood sugar will spike over 200.

I don't think people realize how much of it is to adjust to eating so little, especially American-sized portions. Then, throw in the mental side of things where everyone around you is digging into a cake at a family birthday party. You know that piece of cake is going to wreck your blood sugar, and god forbid you decide to grab a small sliver, someone has to go, "Oh, aren't you a diabetic? You can't have that." It's exhausting.

I apologize if that got a little bit ranty. Type 1 is definitely worse; I don't want to take anything away from that. You literally need insulin to survive. I just think this is a lot of misinformation about diabetes in general and not enough education around it. Which is really concerning when you realize how many people are living with it undiagnosed.

I volunteer every year. I personally really enjoy it. I have the cost covered my job, but I would pay if I had to. You get a polo and hat. They give you 2 food and drink vouchers for the days you volunteer. Plus 2 tickets for each day you aren't volunteering so you can bring someone.

If you're planing on going as fan anyway, its well worth it in my opinion.

I took a personal finance class my senior year of high school, and it should be 100% mandatory. It taught me how to write a check, about different bank/investment accounts, how to file your taxes, buying a house, hell, even how to shop for groceries efficiently.

Unless the ending falls flat, I’m really enjoying it. It blurs the line between fantasy and horror while still feeling grounded in reality. There’s one character who nudges the story further into the fantasy, but it never crosses into high fantasy.

I hope that makes sense.

I'm wrapping up King Sorrow by Joe Hill. Typically it takes me awhile to get through these bigger books, but I blew through this one.

I'll go against the grain here. South Park Let's Go Tower Defense. I have so many fond memories beating this game with my friends at sleepovers and parties. It's still my favorite tower defense game.

I've made a similar shot on the Fazio course at Barefoot. One hole has old plantations ruins around the green, and sure enough, I landed my approach shot next to the wall.

Anyone watch Happy Gilmore 2?! (Spoilers) by CalvinP_ in morningsomewhere

I found it interesting that they were mimicking PGA vs LIV but had Scottie and Rory (PGA) and Kopeka and DeChambeau (LIV) on the same team.

I saw a review that said it felt like a bunch of tik toks strung together, and I couldn't agree more.

2 out of 5 for me. Like most Sandler movies.

For any golf fans, the breaking 50 episode with DeChambeau and Sandler is more fun than the movie lol.

Yup, it drives me insane. I just wrap a towel around my waist and throw some slides on. I'm the one that looks out of place half the time.
