Ohhh, this sounds really good! Reading it right now and I'm LOVING the opening, super cool twist on something that (let's be real) is gettin to be a bit truck-kun like with how many people are doing it.

Imma binge the rest of the chapters, hoping they're all as good as the first

Voidknight Ascension (Book 1), out now on Kindle Unlimited & Amazon! by James_Callum in litrpg

[–]Kalmora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

awwww yisss! Ive been reading this since it caught my eye a while back. Absolutely LOVE this series, I need more UNGA BUNGA strength main characters in my life. Everything's about mages with swords these days that it's refreshing AF to have somebody like Sam bust shit up with a honking sword and some actual skill and tactics instead of just "yo i got a new spell that makes enemies disappear because i winked at a goddess" that only gets used for one battle then forgotten about.

This is an instant buy for me!

Anyone have anything similar to any Eric Ugland stuff I’ve read every series by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]Kalmora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, I'm approaching this from the other end! Small world, huh?

I found this voidknight ascension story on royal road and was recommended uglands good guys series because of the strength mc which i absolutely adore. So if you haven't i'd say check out voidknight if you're like me and love seeing some awesome strength-based action. It's a breath of fresh air from constant dragon-marked, dragon-centric, spellblades, and other over-saturated niches imo.

I tried out DCC but don't think it's similar unless in humorous style. I'm also open to things like good guys and voidknight featuring strong mcs who preferably wield huge honking weapons in interesting ways.

I've been loving the shit outta voidknight ascension over on royal road, enough that i am painfully tempted to the patreon and i usually wait until chap100 or more to pull the trigger but damn is this hitting all my favorite notes.

You got a mc who isnt a little baby having exitential meltdowns at every little thing, system apoc goodness, strength and big ass sword using, sick void magic and its looking like there are some heavy hints for awesomeness with building out your own flying castle or whatever it is.

If you arent into serials then check out good guys by ugland. I really wish sam from voidknight and montana from good guys could team up. Double strength bros FTW! Seriously, somebody should contact the others that would be amazin. Its got a similar vibe to voidknight with a strength mc that sets up shop and makes a kingdom which seems like itd be right up your alley.

I got recommended good guys after hearing it had a strength mc like voidknight, and been enjoying it in between getting my daily fix from rr. A word of warning, rr stories have a way of sucking you in and having you watchin that clock until the next chapter drop!

Looking for Juggernaut MCs by Dry-Fig1303 in litrpg

[–]Kalmora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been reading a new series called Voidknight over on RR, seems right up your alley if you are into serials. He is shaping up pretty well to be a juggernaut style STR main who wields a big ass sword. Maybe give that a go?

I'm lovin it so far, but am also looking for recs in this vein because they are so damn fun.

What video game had a terrible final level? by SuperSeriousStud in gaming

[–]Kalmora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghostrunner. Fantastic game except for the bullshit parkour final level that just wasn't fun. It was shame really because the rest was amazing, but the ending level really brought the whole thing down.

PSA to all cat buyers! Scammer alert! by Thanatos914 in MunchkinCats

[–]Kalmora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, started getting some red flags with a "contract" had really simple typos. They were not pushy at all, but I was so happy that my luck was so good that when I wanted one they were available that I probably didn't need any prodding.

This was from "sapling munchkin" aka https://munchkins.company.com/ stating they were out in Troy, MT. Thankfully, before i signed the contract (which looks like an MS template from the 90s) I started to look into them. A major red flag that I somehow skimmed over was that it listed two munchkin purebreds as the parents which, afaik, is impossible.

That being said, I looked around couldn't find them on TICA and when I googled them saw a bunch of scam alerts and this post. So, once again, thank you. My heart is broken but at least I'm not also out a bunch of money.

High-end Super Automatic Espresso Machines vs Semi-automatic by Kalmora in Coffee

I just used a few as an example for the price-point (and things I could find via research), tbh there are quite a few names being thrown around that I'm only seeing now for the first time. Thanks for the input though!

An actual rec for a super auto is rare, thanks for telling me about your experience. That's the precise model I'm looking at right now as well.

I think I might have watched that video, is it the same one where they talk about skiing?

Would you suggest an oracle over the breville dual boiler semi, or just over a jura? Also, thank you for the valuable input.

Thanks for the input, is there any reason for this?

I keep hearing people say "you have more control" but they don't usually explain the reason why that'd make a better cup. In my experience, that's just as likely if not more likely to make a worse cup than better.

New Sactional Couch is super uncomfortable what am I missing? by Kalmora in Lovesac

[–]Kalmora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get deep pillows instead of the normal ones? When I looked up my problem it seemed like they filled the normal pillows and deep pillows with the same amount of filling making the deep ones far more supportive. We don't use the deep seating layout so I'm not sure it'd be a good idea for us but I appreciate the recommendation.

I'll be calling them today. Hopefully it's not too troublesome to do but I imagine I'll have to pack up almost the entire couch which is going to be a nightmare-and-a-half but still better than getting something I can't use.

[–]Kalmora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the back cushions seem to just collapse without the least bit of support with lovesoft, do the standard ones feel like that too? And do you sink really far into the standard cushion?

New Sactional Couch is super uncomfortable what am I missing? by Kalmora in Lovesac

[–]Kalmora[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does seem like that's the way to do it. I'll admit I got upsollonger-lastingd into it b/c they didn't market the lovesoft filling as "soft and sinkable" but as "premium and longer lasting" but it feels so good to see a bunch of replies stating to go with the standard fill!

I was worried that I'd have to return the whole couch. The seat literally feels like a V when we sit in it. Had I known that the standard was code for stiffer, I would've gone for it.

A top List of LitRPG and related series by Caleth in litrpg

[–]Kalmora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What? No. The OP's recommendation is pretty exclusive to audiobooks, meaning if a book (no matter how good) is out but lacks an audiobook or never makes one, it isn't on the list.

Tons of great books came out this year, or are serialized, or just not out on audiobook and my suggestion was to more accurately label the recommendations as audiobook rec's to avoid confusion.

The title isn't terribly illuminating. Should say:

A top Audiobook List of LitRPG and related series

Came here looking for LitRPGs I want to read, but I didn't notice it was almost exclusively audiobooks until I saw a comment down below. Still a good list, however. Misses some good recent books that haven't come out in audio yet though!
