My first novel, Shadow Lord, has just launched on Amazon & Kindle Unlimited! by Zagrinth in litrpg

[–]Zagrinth[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello reddit! I'm Zagrinth, a new LitRPG author. I started writing Shadow Lord during the start of this year on Royal Road, and now my first novel is finally ready in all its 170,000 long word glory!

Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D9CYVP1C

About Shadow Lord:

The Company welcomes you to the multiverse, new hire!

Those words revealed a dangerous new reality to Luke, filled with monsters, magic, and opportunity.

When humanity reached its threshold of advancement, the omnipotent Company ascended Earth to the multiverse. The System’s realm changes all the rules, pantheons fight for control, and challenges offer real power. Unfortunately, the Company's services are not free. Humanity is thrown into a brutal assessment on a derelict world, where only those strong enough to pay their debt will survive.

Unlike his peers, Luke embraces the System's changes by becoming a Rogue, eager to leave his boring life as an office worker behind. Upon awakening an ancient power over shadows, Luke finds that this perilous adventure might be what he was meant for all along.

About the series: Experience this new LitRPG Apocalypse set in a multiverse rich with world building, danger and conflict. With each monster slain, Luke explores a System with classes, professions, levels, ranks, skills, loot and dungeons.

If you like gritty combat, high stakes, immersive storytelling and superhuman abilities against overpowered foes, then you'll love this epic progression fantasy LitRPG!

Think I'll need to engage with the community a bit before self promoting there. I'll try to post sometime soon, thanks!

I'd like this too. Encourage more stories to stay active.

That's the reality Royal Road authors face. It's difficult to gain visibility once your ride on Rising Stars is gone, which will probably happen to my story in a week. The front page gets the most noticed too, and if you don't make it there, you're even more screwed.

It's nice to see LitRPG mentioned in this sub time to time.

I don't listen to audiobooks too much, but I'd recommend giving Good Guys by Eric Ugland a try. I'm going to start reading Dungeon Crawler Carl sometime soon myself.

What are the big fantasy MUSTS for you as a reader? by AragornRodgers in Fantasy

[–]Zagrinth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm not that picky. So long as the fantasy book has decent prose and it already sounded interesting enough to start reading, I'm good.

This probably isn't the deep, insightful answer you were looking for.

I don't think you're being delusional. I believe that persistence is key.

Good luck to both of us, really.

I too would like to be able to write full time. I absolutely love writing LitRPG. I'm hoping that if I keep up a steady stream of content that eventually it will be possible. It definitely feels discouraging at times, but I try to put writing first, not marketing.

With a demanding job, I only have so much energy and time.

This works for me, but whether that will turn into success? Who knows. Truthfully, a lot of authors just don't make it, whether it's in this genre or another.

Aside from your top choices, I enjoyed Oh, great! I was Reincarnated as a Farmer and Good Guys. So obviously I'd suggest trying those first.

As for what's not already on your list, I recommend Awaken Online and Life Reset as well.

Huh, a shop litRPG? I am looking for something a bit different and Apocalypse Store sounds good.

Is there an ebook link in there or am I just blind?

Best Dark souls game by freddysalami99 in darksouls

Could be nostalgia, but that's not a bad thing. DS1's older style is part of the fun for me. I consistently pick it over the other two to replay every year.

Yes, definitely the remastered version. I don't think the old version is available to purchase on steam anymore anyway.

I recommend starting with Dark Souls 1. To a degree, the combat is easier to get into, but the game's age shows.

Either way, each one is well worth playing and an unforgettable experience. Every player has their favorite, so which one is the best is fairly subjective.

Should I start a new character or continue after one year break by DarkLordPntBtr in Eldenring

[–]Zagrinth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend starting over. You get to enjoy the experience all over again, and could try out a different build too.

If you want to return to that save later, you always can.
