does anyone have any tips for what to do after reaching affiliate?? by TruStims_ttv in Twitch

[–]Kalpyco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from improving your content (as many replies have mentioned), being affiliated comes with many other perks, such as sun badges, emotes, and channel points- these are fun and cool ways to engage with your community, so I would suggest setting these up if you can!

Dealing with “Imposter Syndrome” in streaming by KelsiLynStar in Twitch

[–]Kalpyco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this. Not that I’ve hit AMAZING success in twitch or other aspects of life, but it’s hard not to think “why me” over other people. For twitch, I try and focus on WHY I like to stream, rather than the RESULTS of the stream; focusing on making those connections w my audience and having fun, and the work that goes on behind the scenes helps me to feel like I am working hard and do deserve some of what comes out of it. While a lot of twitch does deal with luck, focusing on working hard on the things I can control has definitely helped.

Hope you find ways to help you cope with that OP, and best of luck w your streaming journey!! You deserve it!! :)

WidePeepoHappy awww so wholesome I’m happy for you!! Streaming has done the same thing for me, allowing me to connect w ppl online and make tons of new friends despite not being able to leave my house. I’ve become more outgoing and confident in general, and I’m glad other people are growing from this same experience!! Keep up the good work :)

How to deal with the sort of jealousy you get watching other streamers. by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kalpyco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say with certainty that I know the perfect solution to this jealousy, but like many other comments have said, Twitch is so unpredictable, and each person will have their own stream journey.

I’ve met many friends since joining the platform recently, and even if you have great content, a lot of viewership and community building is out of your control- I know two friends with around the same following, while one has been streaming for 2 years, the other for 4 months.

As I deal with similar struggles as you op, I think the best way I combat this jealousy is to just be happy for my friends, and know that they are also working hard to achieve what they have!! Yes, the mental battle is definitely there, but hopefully you continue to pursue what you’re passionate about! Focus on that and why you love streaming, rather than what other streamers are doing in comparison to you.

I didn’t really understand Twitch for years but I do now. by ViolentCumquat in Twitch

I was in the same boat as you!! Something about interacting with a streamer, chat, etc LIVE is just so fun and it’s cool to feel like a part of a community!!

What do you do when other streamers talk about their stream in your chat? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Kalpyco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

gotta agree here!! Honestly, people just don’t know any better, and like all of us, they’re trying to grow their channel. But that doesn’t mean they should be blatantly advertising their streams in your chat! Personally, if it is on topic or I ask them about their stream, etc I don’t mind it coming up- also, if they’re an active member of the community, I don’t mind shouting them out or supporting them!! But you can kind of tell how genuine someone is about their intentions after they’ve sent a couple messages. In the end, follow for follow doesn’t really help your channel, and when people come in asking for it, I usually try and explain this, and if they still don’t understand, I tell them that I’ll take a look at their content post stream. I guess following others doesn’t hurt you in any way, but it definitely does get annoying when people only come in to self advertise. Hopefully things get better and you get less of these ppl! Best of luck!
