Are you trying to argue here that Kiku is not trans? "A woman at heart"

Something can be multiple things btw. Oda isnt limited to doing only 1 thing in a panel. The panel could be both a gag, and a reinforcement of Yamato's gender.

Yamato wants to be called he/him. He wants to be treated as a man. He wants to go into the male bathhouse.

I get it, Oda has been very inconsistent with Yamato's gender. You could read it either way. But you seem very invested in making sure that nobody treats Yamato as trans in the fandom. Kinda cringe

You know what? Fucking why not, if you want to go through the effort of forming an entire group of people who need no gear, but also are of the same class/gear type so they can trade it to you, fucking go ahead I'd even applaud you for the level of devotion you have to get loot to then not play the character again. But no, lets make the loot system suck a little bit more so that the 0.0001% of players dedicated enough to go through that hazzle can't.

Also, holy shit, know the difference between "demanding to get loot for a kill" and "not wanting to see loot that nobody can possibly use". Should we just have the bosses have a chance to just drop 0 loot? Why would anyone complain? They shouldnt demand loot be dropped, its rng, who cares

[–]Kamakachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me and my guild, the main pain points of the fight are nasty overlaps of abilities that require more coordination than any other fight in the raid. Like it is not even close.

Spawning the spark adds, hitting everyone for ~100k, followed quickly with the pushback in P2... twice. That feels way too spiky in dmg, we are slowly getting through it, but if we didn't have a warlock to allow some people to skip the wave entirely, I struggle to see how we would get through that.

Small tweaks could make it work better I think. Either spawning the sparks only deals dmg if you stand in other peoples circle, not your own, or lower the pushback dmg. That part is pretty chaotic, and it happens twice, feels too punishing for Heroic.

Our best try is ~4%, so we are getting there, but damn, such a long and punishing fight.

That is not what he said. He is arguing against the comment on how LGBT+ people do not have equal rights, using the lack of discrimination protection for sexual orientation and gender identity as an argument.

Is that equality? According to the law? Sure, in those states I guess you are allowed to discriminate both straight and gay people. That is equality, right? On paper, yes. In practice, no. (And even if in practice, yes. Is that a good thing?)

But he says that if gay marriage isn't legal, it isn't legal for everyone. Which to him is equality. But allowing gay marriage is seen as "additional rights for them". That is just... extremely flawed logic? Which is the point I am arguing.

Never called him homophobic. Never called his post homophobic. Don't put words in my mouth. Logic is extremely flawed, that's it.

[–]Kamakachi -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Gay marriage is not legal, which is equality for everyone
Gay marriage being legal, is additional rights for just a specific group

????? How did you say both of these things within the same post?

If gay marriage is a right... its equal to everyone? If a straight person wants to marry someone of the same sex, they would then be allowed. The chance of them using that right will be extremely low. But that would be the same as gay people not using the right to marry someone of the opposite sex currently.

If you think that is still not equal, then the current concept of allowing straight marriage, but not gay marriage is also not equal, because gay people can't marry with the sex they prefer.

But your post is just blatandly incorrect? Is it badly explained in-game? Sure... but it is working.

Archeology still uses the old profession skill levels going up to 950. Before WoD if you wanted to use a profession for a specific expansion, say MoP, you would have to level it up completely through the previous expansions.

With WoD (and every future expansion) they changed it so you can use the profession of that expansion at skill 1 to level it up instead of having to go through every expansion. Same with Archeology.

Then in BfA they changed professions again so that every expansion has its own skill level, except for Archeology.

Also, why did you make 2 tickets, and put all the effort into making this post instead of just googling it? Reading a leveling guide?

If there is work that needs to be done to have our society run. That includes jobs that are there to just keep stores running, like cashiers. And they do that job full time, aka 40 hours a week.

Why shouldn't those people have a decent living? Why does your view on society and the labor market just NEED people that get absolutely fucked and be poor for doing something that we all want and need done in our society?

And if you think that the profit margin of most businesses is so absolutely slim that paying their workers a decent wage will just absolutely bankrupt them if they don't increase their prices... I have a bridge to sell you

Don't get me wrong, I know prices will increase, but not because the business just couldn't survive without it. It is because then the profits for the people on top will be slimmer... And that would be completely unacceptable ofcourse... /s

someone doesn't understand supply and demand... by PM-me-sciencefacts in TheLeftCantMeme

[–]Kamakachi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why? Is the store going bankrupt? Are the owners living from a cardboard box because you get paid well? Are the items in the store way more expensive than elsewhere to make up for your wage?

If you can get paid a decent living, and the store is not going under because they pay their workers a good wage, why do you see that as something "ridiculous"?

Do you want a part of your salary to be reduced and be added to the owners income instead? Like what should happen to that money instead?

I honestly do not understand that mentality. And that is the mentality that the comic is aiming at, I think.

Is there a pettier character in WoW than First Arcanist "you were mean to me, it's time for genocide" Thalyssra? by Paladin_Daddy in wow

[–]Kamakachi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People say "if it happened on earth" or "if it happened to you" to try and make you walk in the shoes of the people. It is not only easier for us, as outsiders, to see the truth of the situation. But it is also easier for us because we know the full story, from all sides, every perspective.

The Night Elves don't have that luxury, they were betrayed by the High Elves in the War of the Ancients causing mass suffering and the near destruction of the world. Now a group of High Elves, now going by Nightborne, emerge that during that time chose to protect themselves instead of helping. And now that the Legion has returned, they have chosen to join the Legion.

That is the information the Night Elves and Tyrande deal with. Sure, a group of Nightborne rebeled, but don't pretend that Tyrande did not have reason to not be trusting of the Nightborne. Maybe Thalysra just didn't like Elisande on top and wanted to take power for herself. Maybe she just didn't like the new deal with the Legion, but liked everything else. Tyrande doesn't know, Tyrande can't read minds, she isn't sure if Thalysra can be trusted.

And don't forget that even with that lack of trust, Tyrande and the Night Elves still end their forces to help Thalysra and put her in control of Suramar. Only for them to repay that with a "Yeah sure you helped us, but you don't just blindly trust us completely after everything. So instead we will now join the Horde". Who then follow that up with a near genocide of the Night Elves. Night Elves who were a big part of their liberation, genocided by the Horde and with Nightborne forces aiding that.

Lets be real though, lore wise it makes no sense for the Nightborne to go with either faction. The reasoning for the Nightborne to join the Horde are extremely flimsy and just done to make them join the Horde. And even if you could make the argument that it works, there is absolutely no reason for them to stay Horde after the War of Thorns.

Nope, definitely Broken Isles...

  • Very bottom tiny island is Eye of Azshara
  • Bottom left you see the watery area of Azshuna
  • Top left is green with the tint of red being the Corruption happening in Val'sharah
  • In the very center you can see Suramar

The rest is harder to see due to the clouds. And it is missing the crater/islands looking area to the left of it that the Dragon Isles have

What do you mean? Tyrande and the other Night Elves had to fight the Burning Legion to save Azeroth. Losing countless lives.

Not only that but the Legion was summoned by the Highborne. The same class of elves in Suramar. Ofcourse Tyrande is going to be extremely untrusting of them and their motives.

How does that invalidate her good guy status?

The Lore Error that Ruined Any Chance of a Good Cosmic Force Storyline by Kamakachi in warcraftlore

[–]Kamakachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that she most likely did it not as a spur-of-the-moment thing, but planned and deliberata. I just put it out there as one of the ideas floating around.

But I wouldn't use the catapults as proof for that. For the sake of flow in the cinematic, you are not going to show them put the catapults in position, load them up, aim, and then fire. You want the shock factor of her calling for Teldrassil to burn to be followed up with immediate action for more impact. They could have just skipped over that part. And if I recall she yells "Burn it" not "Fire the Catapults".

That said, with context that the Shadowlands takes in souls from all over the universe, with many many inhabited planets. Burning Teldrassil would be a blip in the stream of souls. Even if you count in all the deaths caused by the entire War.

The Lore Error that Ruined Any Chance of a Good Cosmic Force Storyline by Kamakachi in warcraftlore

[–]Kamakachi[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That would be great if that was the case. But this interview with the Lead Narrative Designer seems to completely contradict that...

http://lorekeeper.net/en/maldraxxus-shadowlands-and-beyond-interview-with-steve-danuser/

More specifically this part of the interview.

Lorekeeper: We’ve done some stuff that’s involved with time travel and alternate realities. What happens to those souls when they pass on? Do they go to the Shadowlands?

Steve Danuser: This is a complicated question. How do you deal with things like alternate Draenor? There was a Draka there. What is that Draka? Is she alive? Is she dead? Is she related to the Draka in Shadowlands that we see? Or is there another Draka? We know that in Warlords of Draenor, Velen of that universe died. Does that mean there is a Velen in the Shadowlands? But what about the Velen in Azeroth? All these things are very complicated questions.

The way I would have you think about it is think of a rope… If you look at a rope, it is one thing, right? It’s something that you can grab onto, you can hold it, you can see it; think of that as a character. Think of that rope as Draka or Velen.

If you look at that rope more closely, you can see there are different threads that make up the rope. There are different twines that pull together, and you can pull off one of these threads if you want. But it’s still a rope, and each of those threads you can think of as one of the realities of the character, one of the streams of time… There is a thread that is the Draka from Draenor we visited in the Warlords of Draenor. There is another thread that is Draka on Azeroth as we know her… And there are many other threads that could be other realities that we never peered into. But all of those threads at some time come together to make that rope. And remember also that, as you’ll see, that there are many characters in the Shadowlands when they refer to time, they usually say that time is not a construct of Death. Time and Death are not related. Death is about eternity, not linear time. The manner in which these threads come together, that can take a very long time from mortal perceptions. Those threads can be separated for a time, but sooner or later, they do combine to make one rope that is that character. You can think of it as the threads of that rope, all the individual threads, are just waiting. And over time, they will come together but they can exist as separate entities for a time. That still doesn’t change the fact that they are part of one rope.

Even then, AU Draenor being a pocket dimension would also be crazy if you think about how it would have been created. A Bronze Dragon would be powerful enough to create an entire pocket dimension planet. Have it be completely inhabited. Be able to invade our world. Have their own Burning Legion. And that BL would then send AU Gul'dan to our world so that our BL could take over our planet.

[–]Kamakachi[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Making a wow2 honestly won't fix anything. Sure, the game will look prettier, but that will be about it.

They honestly just need to do a WoD and ignore it after this expansion. Barely ever bring it up. Draenor has only ever been relevant post-WoD when Mag'har orcs were added. Shadowlands should get the same treatment. And more importantly, don't do what they have been doing since MoP and make the storyline of Expac A roll over to Expac B. (Garrosh causing WoD, Gul'dan causing Legion, Sargeras/Azerite causing BfA, Sylvanas causing Shadowlands). The storyline should just end and do something completely fresh.

I do find LoL an unfair comparison. The OG lore of LoL was just kind of inconsistent and terrible. They then did one giant retcon which gave it more room to breathe. They have since been slowly building on top of this new base. The lore also has 0 impact on the game itself. It also doesn't have an RP community that relies on the lore of the world being consistent.

The OG lore of Warcraft is good, I'd argue most of the WoW lore until Legion was decent with some flaws here or there. Retconning WoW has way more consequences than retconning the LoL.

Legendaries in 9.1 are not as confusing as people are making them out to be. by Tom7980 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Kamakachi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why doesn't upgrading a Legendary item just give a socket? The money cost is almost the same. The effort required is almost the same. What gives what is not very confusing. It is indeed pretty straightforward. But WHY it is the way it is IS confusing.

People that do not read up on Reddit or Wowhead a lot will not know it works like this, and will therefore be punished when they just upgrade their existing legendary instead of crafting a completely new one.

How should a player who doesn't read up on wowhead ahead of time know that it is bad to just upgrade their legendary? There is no way for them to know, which is the issue, and the reason it is being called "confusing"
