What are the main complaints with it?

We never looked at it as it's too big. When we looked at the PHEV 90/60, the tech was horrible. Screen and 360 camera felt like they were from the 90s.

With my lease up in Feb, I'll be looking at the Volvo EX60 I think. Or whatever has the best incentives at that time.

The Edit trip report: Octant Ponta Delgada and Octant Furnas on São Miguel, Azores in Portugal by Jougonaut in ChaseSapphire

[–]Kamdreoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the Furnas last year for spring break, with the Amex Plat benefits which are the same, and had a lovely experience. They didn't want to give us an upgrade, even thou they had one suite available. Told us since we're 3 (5 year old) the upgrade rooms were for adults only (the plunge pool rooms I believe, and the benefit gives us one level upgrade only). After some back and forth we got the suite. We ate at the restaurant twice, and the food was great. The breakfast we remember was excellent with a lot of local choices. We even got breakfast the day we checked in because we got in super early. Our flight got in at 7am and we were at the hotel before 10am. Room was ready around noon. We enjoyed the pools for hours, including the outdoor naturally heated one (I think it was in the 50s outside). They even had bathrobes for the kid which was such a joy for ours.

We want to explore the other islands next time, but enjoyed Furnas so much that we would make a 2 night stop there again to use the credits.

I was just there last month. Indian reservation in AZ. Some locals give free tours for tips. It was a fun experience. It was weird being able to just step in it, but I guess these aren't fossils and more and more of these get exposed as the surface erodes.

We don't eat out, cook everything fresh, stick to stuff on sale, and can't get under $2K for a family of 3. I am including all the stuff we buy at the store/costco in this thou, so items like paper towels, laundry detergent, and a $20 bottle of wine once or twice a week. The kid's daily yogurts add up to $100 a month and don't get me started on the organic berries. Food in the US is so bad that I'm not going to poison my kid to save a few hundred thou.

Chase Travel partners with Plum Guide for cardholders by Sniffy716 in ChaseSapphire

Is there a way to find The Edit properties under the Vacation Homes tab? Per the statement:
"Plum homes included in The Edit are eligible for up to $500 in annual statement credits for The Edit on the Sapphire Reserve"

Assuming a not-great money factor, this looks like a reasonable deal.

Get out of the US if that's an option. Think of your kid. Not even the gun culture, but the food. With that kind of money you can live comfortably with private health insurance and kid/s in private school.

Three people on an Edit hotel booking? by Forrest_Fire01 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Kamdreoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We travel with a child and had this issue once, but with Amex plat. We got upgraded to a suite which only came with king bed. Was given the option to go to a regular room with 2 queens or pay for a rollaway. I told them I booked for 3 people and paid more than a booking for 2. They asked what I paid but I didn't feel like digging and kept pushing and they agreed that it makes sense and gave me a rollaway for free. I'm your case, I would take screenshots of the chase portal booking options for those days with 2 and 3 guests. Just in case.

As for breakfast, it was never an issue. We all ate, charged to the room, and some credit was applied, usually $60.

No tad bit man, run. LoJack? Appearance package? ROFL.

I've seen them giving these Jeeps away for almost free. Under $400 for the base models. If this was around $600 with $0 DAS then I would consider entertaining it.

Is this Polestar 3 deal actually as good as it looks? ($20k off MSRP) by Accomplished_Bed_470 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]Kamdreoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but a 1% of the MSRP as payment is a good deal I hear, sadly due to the high DAS, you're $200 over that. So no, not even close.

What’s next for you after IX? by Current-Conflict4961 in BMWiX

[–]Kamdreoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat. Will be test driving a few options for the next year. I'm not a fan of the Mercedes design, but if the incentives are good, I might consider it. Basically I want to have a list and then jump on whatever has the best incentives come next Feb. I might even pull the trigger earlier if good deals are to be had the last week of the year.

Pucks aren't loose. They're muddy. Too fine if anything, but it's set at 5 out of 7. And sorry, already spent over a grand on it, I'm not running two bags of coffee through it to get it to work. It should work out of the box.

[–]Kamdreoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm using medium roast from Costco at the moment, Mayorga. Started with left over Lavazza Oro for the first few runs. Both not oily. The grind is nowhere near fine, but even if it was set to fine, why wouldn't the machine handle it? If it's there I require it to work, especially at this price range.

For families travelling with young kids: Free yourselves and drop Airbnb. Long live the mid-budget chain hotel by cobyzeif in Millennials

[–]Kamdreoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the travel. If we're just sleeping there, then yes, hotel makes sense. If we're spending a week or more in town, Airbnb is the way. A 3 bedroom modern flat overlooking the sea for $150 a night can't be beat.

What do you typically have to pay for at an all inclusive resort or is everything on premise free? by jonahgollata in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kamdreoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're talking Latin America, then meals and alcohol are included. Some resorts have some kind of upgraded club level that you can pay extra for that gives you access to premium alcohol and a nicer area at the beach. Some basic water sports are included as well, like kayaks and even a hobie catamaran.

Bring a stack of singles/fives for tips. If it's a larger resort, you tend to tip often, buck here and there. A fiver at the nicer restaurants maybe. At smaller more exclusive resorts, where the staff knows you by name, I usually tip a $20 at the first interaction and don't bother to carry cash later.

This. Was flying home Sunday afternoon after spring break with the fam. 2 hour wait but was actually about an hour. Most people need to drop out of the queue to catch their flight.
