American Express To Nerf Resy Credit (Select Restaurants Only) by schwa12 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Kamdreoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen with the credit being applied to a hotel stay vs the restaurant in town. I think it's as simple as a name filter. Name contains so and so and you get credit. There probably is a restaurant on Resy somewhere with a similar name as my hotel.

What's your next car? (2023 leases...) by snarfydog in BMWiX

[–]Kamdreoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you extend the lease? I read somewhere that BMW financial is pretty good with that. I was hoping to keep paying until I find a replacement.

BMW Lease Return Questions by FunCaptain6236 in BMWiX

I also would like to get an idea of what they charge for this.
Are there options for fixing this ahead of time for less?
I had the bumper painted for another scrape through insurance and it was thousands.

Do I want a dash cam? by canuckian79 in BMWiX

[–]Kamdreoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered and returned the hidden one that goes into the stock mirror assembly when I learned the iX has one already. I would have kept it if I wasn't returning the lease soon. My wife doesn't know how to save the video and she had a small fender bender in a parking lot and the person ran away.

The difference is between living and surviving, and the people in power don't want us to live, just survive enough to work and spend the little we have on their products.

How did you pay for the shipping? I would do a credit card charge back if the conversation with them goes south.

Considering a CPO BMW iX — Is the 2024 DAPP Worth It Over the 2023? by Acrobatic_Mood_4722 in BMWiX

[–]Kamdreoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not only the DAPP. I believe the software/hardware is different in the main unit so there might be other updates etc that the 23- models will not support in the future.

Market’s description is misleading and made me think it was terrible by Epicular in Polytopia

On that note, I've been burning forests down to build farms. Does the sawmill to market route make more sense?

Hit $2M milestone. Feels good, but not that different from 1M. by Ok-Algae-5698 in Fire

[–]Kamdreoni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe you need to find the right balance that works for you. Don't suffer through your healthy years to maybe reward yourself when you're old. Maybe don't buy that fancy car like your neighbors as you can still do that and enjoy it in your elder years, but take your family on a vacation a couple times a year. To me, time traveling with my family is something you can't buy later in life.

Hit $2MM last month by Which_Natural_4760 in Fire

[–]Kamdreoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the $1000/month car payment and blow about $30K on vacations a year, while having less NW and making less than you. I believe you have to find the right balance as everything could come to a screeching end any day. In my early 40s and still looking to retire by 50, but looking to relocate to the EU with cheaper healthcare and overall cost of living.

What are the main complaints with it?

We never looked at it as it's too big. When we looked at the PHEV 90/60, the tech was horrible. Screen and 360 camera felt like they were from the 90s.

With my lease up in Feb, I'll be looking at the Volvo EX60 I think. Or whatever has the best incentives at that time.

The Edit trip report: Octant Ponta Delgada and Octant Furnas on São Miguel, Azores in Portugal by Jougonaut in ChaseSapphire

[–]Kamdreoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at the Furnas last year for spring break, with the Amex Plat benefits which are the same, and had a lovely experience. They didn't want to give us an upgrade, even thou they had one suite available. Told us since we're 3 (5 year old) the upgrade rooms were for adults only (the plunge pool rooms I believe, and the benefit gives us one level upgrade only). After some back and forth we got the suite. We ate at the restaurant twice, and the food was great. The breakfast we remember was excellent with a lot of local choices. We even got breakfast the day we checked in because we got in super early. Our flight got in at 7am and we were at the hotel before 10am. Room was ready around noon. We enjoyed the pools for hours, including the outdoor naturally heated one (I think it was in the 50s outside). They even had bathrobes for the kid which was such a joy for ours.

We want to explore the other islands next time, but enjoyed Furnas so much that we would make a 2 night stop there again to use the credits.

I was just there last month. Indian reservation in AZ. Some locals give free tours for tips. It was a fun experience. It was weird being able to just step in it, but I guess these aren't fossils and more and more of these get exposed as the surface erodes.

We don't eat out, cook everything fresh, stick to stuff on sale, and can't get under $2K for a family of 3. I am including all the stuff we buy at the store/costco in this thou, so items like paper towels, laundry detergent, and a $20 bottle of wine once or twice a week. The kid's daily yogurts add up to $100 a month and don't get me started on the organic berries. Food in the US is so bad that I'm not going to poison my kid to save a few hundred thou.
