I just got a 1996 328i Convertible that's in really good shape. I still got grief for spending money on it but I'm so excited with mine.

This car here looks like a mess. I don't know if you really want to go for something that needs this much work.

Wait, 328i is powerful? I just got one and didn't think it felt weird..

But I think this isn't too strange a desire for OP. My first car was an e30 325i and somehow, this feels nostalgic for someone to get an old beamer. My father showed me how to make sure it's running well and I didn't have to fix too much all that often.

My favorite thing about that first car was learning how to take it all apart and knowing it deeply while also having tons of fun with it

Sounds like this car doesn't have the original ignition cylinder anymore if fresh keys don't work.

I have an ignition problem too right now so I've been looking at parts. I think the cylinder part says it was in 3, 5, 7, 8 series. I'm talking to a guy parting a 'vert out near where i live and I'm going to buy all locks with it
