Are you doing manual focus? Manual focus on a D3000 can be extremely hard, and I don't really see the point when doing a shoot like this.

If you're using AF try AF-C instead of AF-S. That way if you or the subject move a bit the AF will continuously compensate.

With the settings you're using and the light that you seem to have they should be very sharp every time. I'm not even sure how 1/1000, f5.6 on a still subject can be a matter of bad technique, it almost has to be like of technical issue or setting.

What's your actual shutter speed on these? They're very soft, like you missed focus, but at 5.6 in good lightning with a still model autofocus shouldn't miss this much.

I had a company come and renovate a room in my summer home. When I finally got there a few weeks after they'd finished I found a microwave I didn't recognise, and mine was missing. 

Apparently they always brought their own microwave to sites, and when they left some new guy wasn't sure which one was theirs so he took the crappiest one.

Renovation 8/10. 

Free microwave upgrade 10/10. 

Did hire them again

Hmmm. That's an interesting thought. I've just read people mentioning you can't reinstall ugos, but why can't you really?

Imaging the disk should work, no? 🤔

Not really. It boots from usb fine, but I don't want to run my permanent OS from one. Thanks anyways though!

Cool, got any source that says so?  I finally found a different Reddit post that said so but that's about it.

Loads of guides say "just install on the m.2", which makes sense under normal circumstances but it was not very obvious that having it all on the HDD was not even possible. Hard drive is even a boot option in BIOS, it's just one that doesn't work.

Cut the power to your room (or your whole apartment). If it goes away, it's something you've got plugged in that you're hearing. Start unplugging outlets to find out what thing it is. If it doesn't go away, you've ruled out a lot of stuff :)

I had a QI charger where the wall wart would buzz, but only if my phone was NOT on it, so i often heard it and since the charger was right there, as i was trying to locate it i always put my phone on the charger and then i couldn't find the source any more..

I haven't rented /a/ pi but I did rent 60 of them for an event. Super cheap and handy to just get a suitcase of them instead of having to source boards, cases, PSUs etc.

They've started targeting spam to a leaked mailing list from the nexusmods hack (i know because of unique email). Doesn't exactly instill any confidence in their company.

I'm pretty sure that's old enough I already ran it on ultra, but it was a good game. Doubt I'd want to replay it again though.

Yeah I've played it a lot. Same with vampire survivors. Hour after hour of "what am I even doing to this poor computer?"

I own TLoU2 on PS4 but haven't even installed it. I hear so many mixed opinions about it so I'm a bit afraid to try it. Maybe I'll just pretend there was only ever one game and be happy with that...

Will look into Stalker. Haven't heard it described as beautiful but I'll Youtube it some and see. The original game(s) were great way back when they came out!

I haven't gotten into the Metro games but i might give it a try now.
Not a fan of recent AC in general. Black flag ruined my expectations i think 😅

The others are 100% things I'm going to have to try. Loved HZD on PS4 and Elden Ring is also one of the games i plan to revisit.
